Jeddah College of Advertising hosted today the third Advisory Board meeting for the year 2022, led by his Excellency the Chairman of Board of Trustees Dr Abdullah Sadiq Dahlan. The advisory board included a group of advertising and media leaders, led by His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Saeed Tayeb, the pioneer in leading the success of Tihama Company, Dr. Waleed Kattan CEO of Kattan Media, Mr. Talal Al-Dulaimi Chairman of TPH DDB, Mr. Qaswara Al-Khatib the Managing Director of the sector of Communication and Marketing in the National Activities Center & Chairman of Board at Webedia Arabia, Mr. Ziyad Organji CEO of Brandship Group, and leading personnel in marketing communications at the local and international levels, practically and scientifically, in addition to a number of college graduates who work in the advertising field (Ms. Hana Alsowaigh, Ms Layan Shams & Mr Abdullah Kamal) in the presence of the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, college quality coordinator, and a number of professors specialized in the advertising field from around the world. The Dean of the Advertising College, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked all the attendees and praised their active participation, which contributes to raising the level of the college’s outputs and supports its strategy of continuous development to achieve its vision to be a leading college locally and recognized internationally for quality advertising communications education. The Advisory Board meeting was marked by sharing the college’s wonderful news, that all of its programs obtained academic accreditation, as well as obtaining the initial license for its latest post graduate program, in addition to signing many memoranda of understanding with important bodies such as the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and Saudi Cruise to activate the cooperation between academia and the industry. The team of the Advisory Council reached a number of great recommendations to activate creativity and innovation in the advertising field, which will be announced after studying and obtaining final approval from the higher management at the University.
The mentorship visit to CBA by AACSB has concluded. Professor John Koti, the mentor, had the opportunity to observe, train, and share his expertise with the faculty members. He ensured that they are all prepared for the accreditation process. The session was successful and helped to demonstrate the commitment and the pursuit of excellence for the University.
In the framework of developing and supporting scientific research at Jeddah College of Advertising, represented by the Scientific Research Unit within the college led by Dr. Cristina Greco, JCA’s Consultant for Academic Affairs and Research Coordinator for DSR, and one of its activities is the “Journal Club” which holds many scientific lectures to discuss distinguished scientific research. Dr. Mohamad Saif, the distinguished PhD holder in Advertising Management discussed his experimental research project on consumer behaviour. The presentation resulted in a long and rich debate with the contribution of JCA and UBT’s researchers, online and on campus, the participation of the Deanship of Scientific Research, and with the idea of a new collaborative research project. The Dean of JCA, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked the wonderful efforts of the team in charge of the “Journal Club (Dr. Cristina Greco, Mr Saleh Takrouri and Ms. Safa Merheb and all the Communication Research Unit Team) for their support to promote the culture of scientific research in the College, which is one of the main pillars of the University and the College’s strategy.

Dr. Melanie Reed who worked at the International Anti-Corruption Division in Paris (OECD) gave our JCL, UBT students an overview of the International Corruption and how we prevent such corruptions from increasing by applying the rules of law and business
JCL in the University of Business and Technology had a Workshop presented by Dr. Sairah Narmah Al -Qasim which included the issues and Challenges Regarding Intellectual Rights in the social media. Students learn how to protect Media rights from infringement and what may consider as an infringement to the Intellectual Property in present time with Media and Technology.
Today JCA’s students delegation visited MBC studios, and got informed of the latest developments in the world of media content creation. JCA’s Dean is extremely thankful to the Director of MBC Group, Dr. Ali Jaber, and his distinguished team for the great support and for providing the students with the opportunity to learn about their academic specializations through the reality of the high technologic facilities of the MBC Group. JCL, the University of Business and Technology was proudly had the second collaborative lecture with William and Mary Law school, USA presented by Prof. Eric D. Chason. In this Lecture, Students have been Introduced to the definition of Cryptocurrency, where it’s been used, the legality of it, and its value in the market.
The College of Business Administration at the University of Business and Technology, in cooperation with the Industry Relations Unit led by Dr. Alaa Lary, has organized an educational visit for male and female students of the accounting and finance departments to Bupa Arabia, supervised by Dr. Mohammed Al-Mekhlafi, Ms. Wid Hindi and Ms. Kholoud Bajunaid. Students had a tour to many divisions yet focusing on the finance and accounting departments. Attending a workshop on drafting a resume and interview etiquette. Three of the winners received job interview consulting services. The visit was concluded with a lunch meal with the company's representatives. Sincere gratitude to Bupa Arabia Corporation for welcoming and hosting the University of Business and Technology Doctors and students. Students emphasized the value of the visit and the extensive and relevant information that was given to them, adding to their experiences and the University of Business and Technology looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Bupa Arabia Corporation.

The College of Business Administration at the University of Business and Technology is proud of the ambitious young generation who work while they are still studying. Among them is the academically distinguished student Mohammad Nazer from the College of Business Administration majoring in Finance, who has been working for three consecutive months at the Biennale of Islamic Arts, the first of its kind in the world, starting from January 23, 2023 in the Western Pilgrims Hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Mohammad Shoaib, met the student, Mohammed Nazer, during a visit accompanied by a British PhD Holder specialized in Museum Management (Dr. Fiona Hutchison), who praised the level of the Saudi youth who present the pride of their country to the whole world, and complemented them on how representative they are linguistically, culturally and academically.

JCL, UBT, has made a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Bar Association in the University of Business and Technology February 2021. This MEMO herby aim to promote the collaboration between the two institutions and to exchange experience in all legal activities, research, and training for the JCL students.
In February 2021, in the University of Business and Technology, JCL had made a MEMO of Understanding with Lexis Nexis, a corporation providing computer-assisted legal research, as well as business research and risk management services. This MEMO herby aim to promote the collaboration between the two institutions and to exchange experience in all legal, research training for the JCL students.
The Insurance and Risk Management Department from the College of Business Administration represented by the Head of the department, Dr. Rewayda Tobar, Dr. Moamen Atef, department’s Faculty member, and a group of students, visited the “Insurance Brokerage House”, where the students learned about the important role of the broker in the insurance market, its various departments, and different tasks.The students were introduced to the skills and knowledge required to join the insurance market, which is a booming and promising market in the Kingdom with increasing job opportunities. Moreover, the students got to know about the certificates required to be able to join the insurance market and to have a good job opportunity. Finally, the requirements for Coop training have been presented, so the student will know what exactly he/she should do in case selected for Coop in this company, noting that one of the department’s students is having his Coop in the company now and they are waiting for his certificate to hire him, which reflects the good knowledge and excellence of the IRM department alumni. The students expressed how much they benefited from the valuable information delivered to them, in addition to being highly motivated to continue their hard work towards excellence in their field of insurance.

The Associate Professor Dr Khalid Alshohaib from UBT’s Jeddah College of Advertising participates in the UBT’s delegation in the 6th Equal Opportunities Conference in Bahrain as a main researcher, which is organized through Ahlia University in Bahrain, Brunel University in the UK and UBT in Saudi Arabia. He presented a scientific research titled “Color Hue, Saturation, and Value in Web Banners Advertising: A Systemic Review and Future Directions for E-Marketing Sustainability”.
The University of Business and Technology - Jeddah College of Law (JCL) and the American Bar Association (ABA)🇺🇸signed an MOU - for the University to be an official in country partner with the ABA for legal training and development. This will be in the English and Arabic languages, for law students and legal practitioners across the country.

Dr Isnard is an Attorney-at-Law based in Paris.He has a global experience in telecoms, media, and technology (TMT) issues, and the regulation of space activities. In 2021, he founded SPACEAVOCAT, the first space law boutique in France. Dr Isnard discussed with JCL students and alumni fundamental principles of Space Law and the future of it in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The College of Business Administration at the University of Business and Technology, through the Department of Human Resources Management, organized a workshop and a scientific lecture for the course (Negotiations and Conflict Resolution) presented by Ms. Rozana Tariq Al-Tayyar, who works as a mediator and commercial arbitrator in a settlement company (TASWEA), for the settlement of commercial disputes, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, under the supervision of the Head of the Human Resources Department, Prof. Sayed Zafar, and the Department Supervisor, Ms. Dalia Taibah, at the University’s campus in Dhahban, with great support and organization by the course instructor, Assistant Professor of the Human Resources Department, Dr. Megren Abdullah Altassan. The lecture was attended by some of the University's leaders, led by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Muqaddam, and Dr. Abdullah Aljarodi, Head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit, and Dr. Mahdi Othman, the College's Consultsnt for Academic Affairs, some of the faculty members, and a large number of college students in various specializations and some of the students of the college of Law and a number of university graduates from the bachelor's and master's levels. During the lecture, the guest speaker gave an overview of the importance of settling commercial and non-commercial disputes before the disputes reach judicial solutions, in which the conflict owner may incur a lot of financial losses and waste of time. The students and attendees showed great interest and interaction with the topic, and the desire to participate and represent the country and the university in international competitions that may be the first of its kind for any participation from a Saudi university in the ICC Mediation Competition. On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Business Administration and the general supervisor of the Business Development and Marketing Center, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, praised the efforts of the Human Resources Department in organizing the lecture, especially Dr. Megren Altassan, and stressed the importance of this workshop in bringing the reality of the business world closer to the theories that are being taught in the classrooms. This is a main feature that distinguishes the graduates of UBT from others, which is their great proximity to the reality of the business industry with their scientific readiness in their specializations that serve the labor market.
Twenty students from the Department of supply chain management at the College of Business Administration participated in the logithon competition of the supply chain and logistics conference held in Riyadh from October 22-23.The registration of the teams started on September 10 and the training phase ran from Sunday, September 17 to Wednesday, September 24. The competition consists of 3 stages, with the competition being the final stage for the winning teams during the conference.The head of the supply chain management department, Dr. Bandar Altubaishi, divided the participants into five teams, each team supervised by one of the faculty members of the department, namely Dr. Noor Al-maaita, Dr. Musab Habani, Dr. Karim Sulimam and Ms. Bayan Arab. All the teams passed the second stage and one team qualified for the final stage consisting of the students Rahaf Haddad, Amal Tashkandi and Lara Abdin under the supervision of Ms. Bayan Arab.The Dean of the College of Busienss Administration, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, thanked all the students participating in the competition, namely Abdullah Muhtaseb, Abdul Malik Sufyan, Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, Lara Abdin, Nouf Al-Tayar, Riad al-Zahrani, Youssef bagsir, retal abuznada, Huda Mazhar, Rahaf Haddad, Amal tashqandi, Dina Hefni, Faisal seiflan, raha aburashid, Ismail al-Ghamdi, Hadi Mahmoud, Afnan Sufyan, Faisal Faisal Al-Ghamdi, and Abdulaziz Al-Khatib. Dr. Haneen Shoaib also wished the students who qualified for the final stage all the best and success. She stressed that the University of Business and Technology is keen to support students' participation in competitions that add critical thinking skills to students, learn methods of solving problems related to their academic specialties and support their practical experiences to become ready for the job market upon graduation, especially since the University's slogan is education for job opportunities.
The Marketing Department at University of Business and Technology collaborates with the Ministry of Health and United Pharmacy to organize a Diabetes Awareness Day. The event aims to raise awareness about diabetes, focusing on prevention, management, and its impact on individuals and the community. Students actively participated, gaining valuable insights into diabetes. Dr. Haneen Shoaib, the Dean of the College of Business and Administration, expresses gratitude to Dr. Kholod Aggad for organizing this vital health initiative. Such endeavors play a pivotal role in nurturing responsibility among students and contributing to the overall well-being of the community. Head of Customer Operations for the Arabia Cluster - Unilever Mr.Ahmad Kadous, and under the coordination of Mr. Ahmed Al Wasiah, Director of Employment for the Gulf Region and University Relations of Saudi Arabia. The visit included a campus tour led by the Dean of Business Administration College, Dr. Hennen Shoaib and the Academic Vice Dean of Engineering, Dr. Salem Al-Jazar, a number of department heads and faculty members, visiting the university facilities and the latest developments in the building. Followed by a meeting with the President of the University of Business and Technology, Dr. Weam Tunsi, who convened his pleasure to cooperate with Unilever, and the support that the University finds in collaborating with Unilever to support the ambitious youth and the vision of the country. A lecture was then presented by the Vice President of Unilever Mr. Ahmad Qadous on business supply, one of the trends, sustainability and innovation, and it was a rich lecture filled by live examples of rapid business development and consistent with future needs, Additionally, they have shared the company's training opportunities and how to register. The workshop was Moderated by the students from the Supply Chain Club, Ms.Rahaf Al-Haddad and Mr. Abdullah Mohtasib, which was mainly revolving around the students interest and desire to be part of the future evolution of the sector. The Lecture concluded with honor from the Dean of the College to the speaker, His Excellency Vice-President Ahmad Kadous, and thanked the accompanying delegation for the substantial support they gave to students through positive interaction during and after the lecture, and wishing further cooperation to achieve the university motto.
The Insurance and Risk Management Department hosted Mr. Hani Bahadi, the Chief Sales Officer at Salama Insurance Company as a guest speaker, who delivered an interesting and informative workshop through which he revealed the critical role played by sales in the insurance company, besides discussing -with students- different issues related to the future job opportunities available in the booming and promising Insurance Saudi market.
UBT Executive Education is collaborating with the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) of the University of Zurich to co-develop and co-deliver programs addressed for the Gulf countries. The exchange of services agreement was signed by UBT Executive Education Director General Dr. Amir Dhia and Managing Director of CSP Dr. Falko Paetzold at the CSP Office in Zurich on the 27th of October 2022.
The University of Business and Technology is always proud of its members achievements, and on that account the Chairman of Board of Trustees H.E. Dr Abdullah Dahlan started an initiative called “UBT Achievement Awards Ceremony” to recognize the distinguished achievements of UBT members and to encourage others to follow on their lead. The initiative is presented through UBT’s Business Development Center led by its General Supervisor Dr Haneen Mohammad Shoaib (Dean of the College of Business Administration for Females). The ceremony took place on the 20th of October 2022 and awarded different categories of achievement. It started with honoring previous Vice Presidents (Dr Mahmoud Baissa and Dr Ali Alkhabti), moving to current Deputy President for Quality and Development (Dr Weam Tunsi) and Vice President (Dr Fahad Aldhaban). Moving to faculty members who obtained their academic rank of Associate Professorship (Dr Hatem Akeel, Dr Mohammad Algarni and Dr Khalid Alshohaib). Then honoring the previous Director of Public Relations (Mr Mohammad Almutani), and the female faculty member who authored a scientific book (Dr Fatima Farsi). Moving to honoring the PhD distinguished academic supervisors of over 20 PhD candidates in UBT (Dr Suzilawati Kumarudin & Dr Samar Mohammad Shoaib), and the first of those PhD holders who obtained their Doctorate Degrees from UTM (Dr Dina Abdullah Dahlan, Dr Mosaab Habani, Dr Nadra Tawfig, Dr Alaa Lary, & Dr Kholod Aggad). The ceremony was even more special through the wise words of The Chairman of Board of Trustees Dr Abdullah Dahlan, who commended the achievements of the honored members, and who more than once stressed strongly how the faculty members in the University are the main pillars of the educational journey.
In the presence of more than 150 leaders from various universities in the Arab world, the University of Business and Technology scored a new international achievement by advancing for the third year in a row in the (QS) ranking of the best universities in the Arab world for the year 2023 AD, which was launched during the first day of the (QS) Forum for Arab Universities, which was held During the period October 19 and 20, 2022 AD, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, The university celebrated its achievement of the 43rd Arab rank in the international students standard, and the 51st Arab rank in the international faculty standard, which came as a confirmation of the university’s efforts to enrich the educational experience in its holistic form, which comes through several factors, foremost of which is the cultural diversity of faculty members and students. The university includes nearly 30 nationalities representing five continents (North America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia). As contributed to the achievement of this achievement, the university adopted a policy of providing periodic educational trips locally and internationally for its students, in cooperation with major international universities. The team was welcomed by the Vice Dean of CBA for Boy's campus Prof. Ayman Zerban, the associate professor Dr. Mohammad Hijazi from the supply chain management department and Mr. Shoaib Ahmed from the General Department.Cengage publications offered a practical demonstration for their learning platform. The platform offers various interactive learning tools for students. The Chairman of Board of Trustees His Excellency Dr Abdullah Dahlan headed The University of Business and Technology’s delegation in the 6th Equal Opportunities Conference in Bahrain under the slogan “Sustainable Leadership and Technology Innovation Management”, which is organized through Ahlia University in Bahrain, Brunel University in the UK and UBT in Saudi Arabia. The Dean of the College of Business Administration for the Female campus, and the General Supervisor of UBT’s Business Development Center is a Keynote speaker on the first day under the session “Leadership and Sustainable Businesses” titled “Women Leadership in Education: a Saudi Arabian Sustainable Perspective”. The talk of Dr Haneen starts with highlighting a turning point of women participation in the Consultive Council in Saudi Arabia (Majlis Alshuraa) moving to vision 2030 and the developed legislative policies and regulations that created an attractive eco system for women to achieve excellence through education and training to foster their skills to be the new leaders of the future.
Fifteen volunteers from the Business Supply Chain Management Student Club from the College of Business Administration at the University of Business and Technology, under the supervison of the Head of the Supply Chain Management department, Dr. Bandar Al-tubaishi, participated in a voluntary initiative in the Holy City of Mecca, within the Holy Mosque. They provided Iftar meals to 5,000 people in cooperation with Nakhlah Al-Bir organization in Mecca organized by the Supply Chain Student Club members Riyadh Alzahrani and Faisal Alshehri. The summit looks to explore the intersection between universities and the future of work, and how institutions in the region can create the right outcomes for students through a more creative and considered approach to education.
In alignment with UBT strategic plan to enrich knowledge, exchange culture, and gain experiences, and in continuation to the efforts made to strengthen the international relationship and cooperation between The University of Business and Technology and global educational institutions, the Deanship of Scientific Research organized a student exchange summer program with the University of Cattolica in Milan, Italy in which UBT student delegation, accompanied by Dr. Hawazen Mutair, has traveled to participate in this initiative whose objective is develop UBT students' international experience, providing them with invaluable insights and knowledge that they can bring back to share with the UBT community. The University of Business and Technology, represented by the College of Business Administration, launched its summer Edutainment program in line with the start of the summer semester and the activities of Jeddah season. The program aims to support education through entertainment by participating in various events. The start was with a group of students and faculty members participating in City Walk, where they got acquainted with many entrepreneurial projects of their colleagues participating there, including their personal brands, restaurants, and cafes. The business owners discussed the most important opportunities and challenges for them as students running their own businesses. The delegation also visited the exhibition "Imagine Monet" for the works of the French artist Claude Monet, where the students enjoyed seeing the modern technical embodiment of Monet's paintings in a digital format. They also got to meet the University student from the College of Engineering, who is proudly a Coordinator for the entire project (Badr Ramadan Fayad), who shared his experience with students as a student working on huge projects and balancing his studies and work to create a distinctive imprint in the business world. By organizing these trips, the College of Business Administration demonstrates its commitment to providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that enhances both academic, personal, and professional life aspects.
The University of Business and Technology, represented by the College of Business Administration through the course "Entrepreneurship" hosted a Distinguished Lecture on Social Entrepreneurship, where Ms. Wejdan Abdullah Alshareef shared her success and her inspiring story with students of the course of Entrepreneurship taught by Dr. Saad Basaad, where Ms. Wejdan shared the beginnings of founding - Blue Rushan company - in an attempt to save the historical palaces in Makkah from demolition by applying the Nudge Theory to create positive motives and influence through soft power, which was met with great interaction from students and aroused their interest. The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, expressed her pride in the great achievement of Ms. Wejdan, as she is a unique national female role model, and the University will be of support to the social project through its social responsibility and entrepreneurship efforts. Ms. Wejdan is a role model for applying what students learn in classrooms to solve real-world problems, which is one of the foundations of education for job opportunities and entrepreneurship.
As part of UBT’s strategic goal of enabling internationalization, currently and during the period between 15-19 July 2024, a group of JCA students are participating in Cumulus Talent Camp 2024, Design for Complex Societies at Pordenone City in Italy.This initiation, supervised by Dr. Mahmoud Abushawali, Assistant Professor at the Advertising Creative Design Department and Communication Department HOD, is one of the many attempts of Jeddah College of Advertising to enrich students' experience through both academic excellence and unique extracurricular activities and the chance to interact with international cultures and communities. The camp includes many lectures and workshops about design for complex societies within its scheduled activities, in addition to trips and excursions, with participation from 30 students from around the world. The participation follows the launching of JCA’s membership at Cumulus Association for Art and Design, a world-class organization that will open doors for students exchange programs, mutual research projects and opportunities for attending international art and design events.

The College of Business Administration CBA hosted Mr. Mohammad Malisho, one of its distinguished graduates from the Master of Business Administration program, at the evening track entrepreneurship course taught by Dr. Saad Basaad, whom we thank, during which Mr. Mohammed shared his experiences, discussing the companies he has founded, their beginnings, key factors contributing to startup success as well as common reasons for startup failures. As well as discussing how ideas are selected for new business opportunities, he discussed the stages of a company's growth. It is through these lectures that theoretical knowledge is connected with practical insights from real life experience.

He delivered a Keynote Address at the 4th International Accounting and Business-MI-CAB 2024 Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prof Zafar discussed the topic of "Exploring the Impact of Quality of Life on Happiness Among Female Healthcare Professionals: The Moderating Roles of Family and Education." The conference was hosted by Mahsa University in Malaysia on August 23, 2024.

This conference provides a valuable opportunity to enhance knowledge and exchange expertise with leaders in the financial and technological sectors, contributing to staying updated with the latest scientific advancements and incorporating them into the development of curricula to enrich the student's educational experience.
The University of Business and Technology (UBT), through its Deanship of Student Affairs and the Center for Community Responsibility, played an active role in organizing the Development Initiatives Forum for the Makkah Region. The Forum was held under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah, and with the presence of regional governors and assistant governors for development affairs. The forum aimed to foster the exchange of developmental expertise across the Saudi region, contributing to comprehensive national development and supporting community service initiatives aligned with the goals of Vision 2030. In collaboration with the Jeddah Municipality from July 29 to August 1, 2024, 19 UBT students participated in welcoming delegates from various regions of the Kingdom at King Abdulaziz International Airport and in organizing the conference, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah. The forum included panel discussions, workshops focused on supporting regional developmental, and an exhibition titled “Development Initiatives.” UBT is proud of its active contribution to such important national events, which reflect its leading role in supporting community development.
UBT participated in the Ministry of Commerce's Innovation and Creativity Event, represented by Dr. Halah Nassif faculty of the Business Analytics and Management Information Systems Department at the College of Business Administration with Students Samiya Idrees, Dina Alkhammash, Lolwah Alsanee, and Melaf Bin Halabi, who won at Leap earlier this year, and participated in discussions about innovation at the university level and UBT's role in supporting it. Mr. Hossam Raheem from the Student Affairs Department was present at UBT booth and introduced visitors to the university.

During their visit, the representatives had the opportunity to meet and interact with students, answer their questions, and provide details about upcoming events and programs that students can benefit from.
The University of Business and Technology (UBT) presented by the College of Business Administration (CBA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KPMG, a leading global professional services firm, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The agreement was signed by his Excellency Dr. Wiam Tunsi, President of the University, and his Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Baeshen, Partner director at KPMG. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Haneen Shoaib, Dean of the College of Business Administration. Also attending from KPMG were Mr. Abdulrahman Khan and Ms. Sukainah Alkhalil, and from the University, Dr. Ahmed Qotb, Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Eman Attia, Assistant Professor in the Department, who contributed greatly to preparing the agreement, and Dr. Lina Kutbi, who organized the signing ceremony. This agreement represents an important partnership to strengthen the University’s relationship with the professional services sector, and supports training and academic and professional development opportunities for the University’s students and graduates.
The University of Business and Technology (UBT), represented by the College of Business Administration (CBA), led by the Dean of the College, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, and represented by the Departments of Retail Management and Marketing, and in cooperation with Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA), hosted a workshop provided by Cartier International Company, led by Ms. Haneen Al-Waqas-human resources manager- for the students of the colleges of Business Administration and the College of Advertising who are participating in the company's regional competition, where all aspects of the competition are reviewed from the goals and expected outputs of the participating teams and the schedule of the event, then the public discussion was opened with the students to answer all their academic and practical questions and queries. The University of Business and Technology is proud to be the only Saudi University to participate with (14 teams - four students in each team) from The Bachelor's and Master's programs) in this regional competition, which includes the participation of students from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and India under the supervision of a specialized team from Cartier (France), provided that the winning teams will be hosted and honored by the managing director of the company January 2024.The Dean of the college Thanked the efforts made by the head of the Retail Department, Dr. Hatem Garamoun, to prepare for the visit, as well as the Head of the Marketing department, Dr. Sharifa Ahmad, Dr. Kholoud Aggad and Dr.Mohammed Saif for their effective efforts in preparing the student teams participating in the regional competition. This participation comes as part of the College's efforts to connect students with real projects that translate the academic curricula into practical projects in the Business sector to achieve the University's slogan (Education for job opportunities).
The College of Business Administration, represented by the Retail Management Department Club, in collaboration with the Industry Relations Unit, organized a field trip to Carrefour Saudi Arabia's branch in Sulaimaniyah on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Hatem Jaramoun, the head of department, and in the presence of department members, Ms. Aya Al Assi and Mrs. Diana Pakharuddin. The educational trip included a meeting with Mr. Faisal Al Marzouki, the branch manager, who provided an overview of the structure of the main branches, the nature of core retail operations, and supporting activities. He also answered the students' questions and inquiries. Subsequently, a field visit was conducted to the e-retail department, as it is the first branch in the Kingdom to rely fully on automation in processing orders for the company's application. Additionally, a brief meeting was held with the Human Resources officials, who expressed their interest in hiring graduates from the department due to the scarcity of graduates in the retail field, along with a promise to hold a workshop at the Corniche branch to shed more light on the electronic transformation experience.

They successfully defended their COOP report under the supervision of Dr. Kholod Aggad. The Supply Chain Management delegation from the College of Business Administration (CBA), University of Business and Technology (UBT) embarked on an enlightening journey to Nahdi Transportation, led by the esteemed Dr. Mosab Habani and Ms.Bayan Arab, accompanied by 17 enthusiastic students. This unique opportunity allowed the students to participate in a workshop at Nahdi Transportation, enriching their knowledge and understanding of supply chain logistics. Nahdi Transportation, a leading player in the logistics industry, hosted this exclusive educational trip, offering the students a firsthand look into the intricacies of supply chain management and the transportation sector. The trip provided an invaluable opportunity for the students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.The workshop, spearheaded by Nahdi Transportation's team of experts, covered a wide array of topics, including supply chain optimization, inventory management, logistics operations, and sustainability in the transportation industry. Within the framework of promoting extra-curricular activities for students of the University of Business and Technology, the College of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, has organized a series of enriching lectures for this academic term in cooperation with a well developed program for community service “Mutqen” by (Basamah Company), and it started with the program named(Qudra) under the title "Personal job interview". This series of lectures comes within the framework of the agreement conducted last month with the(Mutqen) program to provide many courses that will contribute to the development of students ' cognitive abilities in many scientific and practical fields that affect the University students during their studies and after graduation.The course was presented by Engineer Ahmed Al-Zahrani, who was nominated by (Mutqen), as a consultant in human resources management for more than 25 years and who worked in several well known entities in the private sector, and who promised the students who are expected to graduate with distinguished career opportunities. The students attendance was nearly a hundred, and they interacted engagingly with the trainer and expressed their desire to establish many similar courses after praising the great benefit of the course. The College of Business Administration, represented by the Department of Accounting, organized a workshop entitled “Zakat and Taxes in the KSA” for students of the bachelor’s and master’s levels, on Sunday, 11/05/2023, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Talawi and Mr. Muhammad Abdullah, experts at the Crowe International Group, presented valuable information about zakat and taxes in the Kingdom. The workshop was attended by some faculty members in the Accounting Department, and about 50 male and female students.
The University of Business and Technology's College of Business Administration represented by the Marketing department organized a workshop titled "Marketing Communications Workshop: Writing a Creative Brief" under the supervision of Dr. Sharifah Ahmed, Marketing department supervisor. The workshop was led by Ms. Sumaya Bahamdain, a UBT Alumni from the Master of Business Administration program with 12 years of work experience working in companies such as Nahdi, Goody, Unilever, and Proctor and Gamble. The workshop was conducted on the 30th of October. The workshop is directly related to Marketing students who are very interested in the topic. At the end, CBA Dean Dr. Haneen Shoaib thanked the organizers from CBA and Ms. Sumaya for supporting the development of students' marketing skills and emphasized the value of attending such workshops to broaden students' knowledge, develop their skills, and prepare them for the workplace.

The Orphan Foundation “Ekhaa” held a “Leadership in Empowering Orphans” workshop on Thursday, September 5, 2024—the seminar aimed at enhancing the services provided to orphans and sharing the latest experiences in the field. The University of Business and Technology (UBT) received an invitation to participate in the workshop. Dr. Sarah Zakour, Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship and Retail Management at UBT, was one of the prominent participants. Dr. Zakour presented valuable insights and recommendations on enhancing strategies for orphan empowerment, drawing on her academic and professional experiences. The participation and engagement of faculty members with the non-profit sector contribute to building an effective and mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise across different sectors.

Mr. Hassan Linjawi, the CEO and founder of SELF production house, the main guest speaker challenges, each of his team members, Ms. Asoul Linjawi, the Social Media Account Manager, the Director of the Design Unit, Mr. Khabbab Muhammad, the Director of Operation, Mr. Islam Daoud, and the Financial Director, Mr. Abdul-Ilah Attar, to talk about the stages of their work and the challenges, each in his field. A workshop with specific real case of Mr. Hassan when he began establishing the production house, determine the medium and distinct goals of the agency, case studies of his clients as some examples. This activity was arranged by the Advertising Management Department and coordinated by Dr. Heba Jamal, a faculty member at the college. There was a high interaction, engagements and questions from students to the guest speaker and his team.

The interactive session captured the students' interest. Notably, one student shared his qualifications and landed a job interview right away. Dr. Ayth bin Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Family Businesses, paid a visit to the University of Business and Technology (UBT) at Corniche Campus on Monday, April 22, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to discuss ways of collaboration between the center and the university in the areas of scientific research, executive training, and social responsibility. Dr. Weam Husni Tunisi, the President of UBT, offered a detailed tour of the four colleges at the university which include the College of Business Administration, Jeddah College of Engineering, Jeddah College of Advertising, and the Jeddah College of Law. The tour was followed by a detailed meeting to discuss ways to develop this strategic partnership. The meeting with Dr. Ayth bin Ibrahim Al-Mubarak was attended by Dr. Weam Husni Tunisi, the president of UBT; Dr. Mahmoud Omar Ba-Eissa, Consultant to the Chair of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Ruaa Omar Bin Saddiq, Dean of Scientific Research; Dr. Liela Ahmed Jamjoom, Director of Community Responsibility Center; and Dr. Kholoud Yousef Bajunaid, Director of the Training Center.
Today, the University of Business and Technology in Jeddah hosted a security scientific symposium within the “Prevention Ambassadors in University Environments” initiative, one of the initiatives of the second phase of the “Be Aware” initiative, which comes under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of the Makkah Region. The honorable one, and under the follow-up of his deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, with the participation of 10 universities in the region, to fortify society against the scourge of drugs, strengthen community partnerships, and benefit from educational cadres and university expertise in raising community awareness. The symposium focused on four main axes, including the security, social, health, and psychological axes, during which the speakers stressed the importance of intensifying public awareness of the dangers of drugs and enhancing cooperation between various parties to reduce their spread, reviewing the risks of drugs and their dimensions on society and the importance of intensifying public awareness and family follow-up of their children on a permanent basis, noting The main objectives of the “Be Aware” initiative, which seeks to raise security awareness among male and female students to prevent drug crimes and achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by strengthening partnership and cooperation between the Narcotics Control Directorate and universities in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region in the fields of scientific research and enhancing society’s immunity from the scourge of drugs through... (Quality of Life) program. The participants in the symposium presented six recommendations that included raising the level of awareness among male and female students about the danger and harm of drugs from the security, health, psychological, and social aspects, contributing to reducing the rate of crimes resulting from drug abuse in the university environment, contributing to a decrease in the rate of abuse in university environments, and activating the role of universities towards enhancing research. Scientific research in drug prevention, spreading the culture of awareness through the ambassadors who benefit from the initiative, and contributing to achieving the concept of quality of life as one of the primary outcomes of Vision 2030.
UBT participated in the International Conference on Business and Technology, represented by Prov. Ahmed Elmasry, a faculty member of the College of Business Administration Finance Department. Prof. Elmasry served as the chairperson for two sessions at the conference. Additionally, one of his research papers titled "ESG controversies, geopolitical risk, and the cost of capital: the moderating role of gender diversity" was accepted for presentation at the Conference on Business and Technology (Scopus indexed). The conference was organized by the EuroMid Academy of Business and Technology and hosted by the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom from April 19 to 20, 2024.
The University of Business and Technology participated as an official sponsor of the Eid Carnival for hospitalized patients at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The Eid carnival included various entertainment activities such as songs, competitions, and games that were suitable for the health condition of the hospitalized patients. The patients and their families expressed their gratitude for this generous gesture, which brought smiles and joy to everyone’s hearts.
Through the insurance club, the Insurance and Risk Management Department organized a special event for insurance celebrating the insurance sector by assigning an entire day under the title “Insurance Day”. Insurance companies such as Malath and Salama presented their products and introduced students to various types of insurance offered by their companies. In the presence of the department’s students to increase insurance awareness within the university. Moreover, multiple presentations made by some specialists in the insurance sector, including Mr. Mazen Almazni – Underwriting Manager General Insurance at Aljazira Takaful Company – who delivered a presentation entitled “Insurance Types in the Saudi Market” Ms. Reem Alshehri – Regulatory Compliance Officer at Aljazira Takaful Company - who delivered a presentation entitled “Career Passion” Mr. Feras Tammar – Senior Manager Western Region Office and the insurance department’s advisory board member - who delivered a presentation entitled “Your Career Starts Here” Students expressed how much they gained from the valuable information presented to them, as well as the fact that the event had a positive effect on their motivation to join the department and work in the insurance industry. In the closing ceremony, members of the insurance department club were honored by the Head of the department, Dr. Reweda Tobar, department faculty Dr. Moamen Ali, and Vice Dean, Dr. Ramzia Albakri, for making the event a success.
Mr. Zuhair Almaghrabi, Panda's Chief HR Officer, and Abdullah Alsaban, Panda's Chief Operations Officer, visited UBT and met with CBA, accompanied by their team members. As part of their meetings, they met with the college Dean, Dr. Haneen Shoib, the Vice Deans, Dr. Ramzia Albakri and Dr. Bandar AlTubaish, as well as the heads of the Retail Dr. Hatem Garamoun and Supply Chain departments, Dr. Karim Soliman, and the Head of the Industry Relations Unit, Dr. Alaa Lary. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore venues of collaboration, specifically tailored to their business needs servicing UBT's students. The meeting also delved into the retail sector in Saudi Arabia, with particular attention given to Panda's significant presence in the industry. The guests discussed the industry's requirements and provided valuable insights into the skills and qualifications the retail major should offer to attract students. Particularly in preparing students for employment at Panda's head office. CBA embraced these suggestions and expressed their commitment to a fruitful collaboration. A tour of the UBT facilities concluded the meeting.
The College of Business Administration, represented by the Department of Human Resource Management organized a workshop about the definition of recruitment, recruitment process, identifying job requirements, sourcing, screening, selection & how to stand out as an HR fresh graduate on Monday, 29th of April. The workshop was presented by UBT HR graduate Mr. Mohammed Taira who works currently as a Talent Management Coordinator at Zahid Group and attended by several faculty members and students.
Dr. Karim Soliman, the Head of the Supply Chain Department, participated in the African Games in Accra, Ghana. He was nominated by the International Basketball Federation and had the honor of officiating the final game in the men's competition, a testament to his expertise and commitment. Dean of the College of Business Administration Dr. Haneen Shoaib congratulated Dr. Karim on this accomplishment and expressed UBT's pride in this achievement and looks forward to more successful international sports participations in the future.
On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the University of Business and Technology received a delegation from Marymount University, including the president of the university, the vice president, and the dean of the university, to discuss areas of cooperation between the two universities, coordinated and prepared by the Deanship of Scientific Research, under the auspices and presence of His Excellency the University President, Dr. Weam Tounsi, and the General Supervisor of the Corniche campus, Dr. Yussra Jamjoom, and the Vice Dean. The University for Student Affairs, the Vice Dean for Digital Services, the Vice President for Female Students, the University Vice President for Quality and Development, the Dean of Scientific Research, the Deputy Dean of Scientific Research, the Assistant Dean of Scientific Research, and several male and female university employees. A preliminary agreement was reached on areas of cooperation in the field of training, scientific research, and student exchange between the two universities in the summer semester and various other fields.
The Marketing Department at the College of Business Administration organized a workshop on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 under the coordination and supervision of Dr. Abdulelah Althagafi by hosting by Mr. Ahmed Habib Bakhsh, the official of the Community Service Unit at the Scientific Endowment of King Abdulaziz University, who conducted a workshop to introduce volunteering and how to get started in a volunteer project and providing advice about volunteer work and how to develop and continue it, with practical examples of successful volunteer projects and a discussion of the reasons for success, as was done Practical application of virtual volunteer projects during the workshop.The Dean of the College, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, praised the efforts made at the workshop in the North Obhur campus of the University.

The summit looks to explore the intersection between universities and the future of work, and how institutions in the region can create the right outcomes for students through a more creative and considered approach to education.
The University of Business and Technology (UBT), presented in the College of Business Administration (CBA) was honored to host a visit from the Tennis Saudi Federation through the organization of the head of Sports Management program Dr. Masheal Batarfi, who net with Ms. Areej Motabagni the president of the Tennis Federation in order to discuss future collaborations. The visit took place on Monday 30th of October, with the coordination of Ms. Lina Almaenna the CEO of Jeddah United the strategic and sport partner of UBT.The president had a tour around the UBT campus to see the facilities followed by a meeting to discuss the possibility of different area of collaborations and to sign an MoU that includes the training and job opportunities for UBT students as well as arranging different campaigns for the federation managed and done by UBT students as part of their project. The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked the efforts of the head of the sport management program Dr. Mashael Batarfi for linking the program with the sport industry and the business sector, which is consistent with UBT slogan “education for job opportunities.
The University of Business and Technology, represented by the College of Business Administration (CBA) from the Department of Supply Chain Management headed by Dr. Bandar Altubaishi, attracted an opportunity of cooperation with (Trax Group) to cooperate in the fields of consulting, training and technology, with a focus on training students on the simulation systems as well as obtaining a supply chain simulation system to add it to the Department's academic materials in addition to cooperative training for students. The collaboration entails providing training on professional certificates in the field of supply chains for faculty and students and organizing international competitions conducted by the company on the University campus. The University was represented by His Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Weam Tunsi, and TRAX was represented by His Excellency the chairman of the board of Directors, Mr Raed Al-Tayer, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, as well as the head of the supply chain management department, Dr. Bandar Altubaishi, Dr. Karim Suleiman and a number of students from the colleges of Business Administration and Engineering, who were honored by the President of the University and the Chairman of the board of Directors of TRAX for qualifying for the international competition in supply chain management.
The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Business and Technology (UBT) through the Head of the Industry Relations Unit Dr Alaa Lary, has organized an educational field trip to the (YORK) factory, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Zulfeqar for the course (Marketing Channels).CBA students visited York factory In King Abdullah Economic City which is the largest hardware manufacturer in the Middle East. The trip included a comprehensive lecture about the factory, its history, and its products in all its divisions. students were invited to visit the various sections of the factory including AC production and assembly lines.Students expressed their admiration and enjoyment of this educational trip and the valuable information it provided to them which added to the students’ experiences.The Dean of the Business College Dr Haneen Mohammad Shoaib thanked the great efforts of Dr Alaa Lary for organizing the trip as well as thanking York Company for their continuous welcome of the students of the University of Business and Technology, and looking forward to more cooperation with the company.
His Excellency the President of the University of Business and Technology, Dr. Weam Hosni Tounsi, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health, represented by the Supply Sector, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Supply and Engineering Affairs, Eng. Saad bin Omar Al-Sadhan. With the attendance of the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr Hatem Akeel and the Head of Department for Supply Chain Management Dr Bandar Al-Tubaishi. The signing took place during the activities of the World Health Exhibition held at the Riyadh Exhibition from October 29 to October 31. Dr. Marai bin Hamid Al-Qahtani, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Supply and Contracts, signed the memorandum and expressed the Ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the academic sector and exchange experiences to enhance educational opportunities and professional development. The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked the Head of the Supply Chain Management Department, Dr. Bandar bin Zaid Al-Tubaishi, for his pivotal role in organizing the signing of this agreement. Ibn Sina medical students, in collaboration with Motmaena Clinic, organized an awareness campaign titled “Don’t be ashamed and seek consultation” on Wednesday, May 8th 2024. The campaign aimed to raise awareness on the importance of mental and psychological health, and emphasized the role of building healthy practices in order to enhance physical and mental well-being.
The Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration (Northern Obhur), Dr. Bandar Altubaishe, represented the College of Business Administration by attending the third conference of colleges of administrative sciences at universities in the GCC countries, held at King Saud University in Riyadh in Hamad Al-Jasser Hall, under the slogan: “The Impact of Digital Transformation on the Economy and Business,” sponsored by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan. The conference included a variety of enriching dialogue sessions and workshops, in addition to distinguished scientific sessions.The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, confirmed the University’s emphasis to participate in scientific forums that increase opportunities for sharing expertise and experiences in the field of digital transformation, and to enhance cooperation between Universities and academic institutions.
The Finance Club at the College of Business Administration organized a workshop in collaboration with the Software Engineering Department, where students from the Software Engineering Department shared their expertise in graphic design. This was to foster collaboration between students with diverse skills and their colleagues. Two students, Mr. Sultan Alkendi and Ms. Shahad Altash, led an engaging session on design principles using Canva, which attendees then put into practice. The workshop was well-received, with participants creating stunning designs. After the seminar, Dr. Ramzia Albakri, the Vice Dean of CBA, presented certificates of appreciation to the two students to recognize their contributions and efforts.
The College of Business Administration, with support from the Industry Relations Unit and the Department of Human Resources Management, held a workshop titled "Navigating Change: Adapting and Thriving in a Dynamic Business Environment" on Monday, May 7th . Students and faculty attended the event, which took place at the College of Business Administration. The workshop was led by Ms. Najat Al-Somali, the Regional Business Partner for Human Resources Management at Johnson Controls Arabia. Throughout the session, students actively engaged and expressed their admiration through continuous interaction and questioning, which greatly enhanced the dialogue. At the conclusion of the workshop, the College's Dean, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, expressed her gratitude to the speaker and all involved in organizing, participating, and attending the valuable lecture.
The College of Business Administration at UBT, represented by the Accounting Department, organized a celebration for International Management Accounting Day. The event featured distinguished speakers from the industry, including Mr. Ghaith Fayez, Director of Internal Audit at Al Balad Development Company, along with three partners from PwC Middle East, and Mr. Firas Al-Abwa, Chief Financial Officer of OMACO Group. Additionally, Mr. Khaled Idris discussed the certificates offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW) and the promising opportunities it provides for students in their future careers. In addition, Mr. Ahmed Bilal Mandour, Business Development Manager at ACCA, spoke about professional certificates. The event was attended by faculty members of the Accounting Department and more than 60 male and female students who benefited from the informative lectures given by the guests and learned from their valuable experiences.
The University of Business and Technology is proud of the active participation of the College of Business Administration (CBA) in the invitation extended by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City to attend specialized workshops related to the development of the strategy of the luxury retail sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This choice comes because the College of Business Administration is distinguished by offering the first and only Bachelor's program specialized in retail management in Saudi Arabia. The college was represented by Dr. Ramzia Al-Bakri, Dr. Bandar Al-tubaishi, and the head of the retail department, Dr. Hatem Garamoun; the participants all shared the current situation, opportunities, and challenges in the sector and shared their views with the government and private sector to develop the retail sector system to suit the ambitions of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. The celebration was attended by his Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Baisa, consultant of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and 10 guests participated from international and local accounting offices, companies, and banks; Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Fatani and Mr. Hossam Hussein, partners in PwC, Mr. Nasser Al-Shatiri, a partner in KPMG, Mr. Tariq Al-Fatani, a partner in Deloitte, Dr. Ihsan Al-Bahkali, owner and director of the “Ihsan Management and Financial Consulting”, Mr. Muhammad Al-Talawi, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah, and Mr. Muhammad Ali from the Crowe International Group, Mr. Bashar Maidhar, Director at the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Mr. Ziyad Ahmed Omar, Director at the Financial Department of the Islamic Development Bank. About 70 male and female students from the accounting major participated, and faculty members from the department also participated. Dr. Mahmoud Baeis gave a speech about the development of the accounting profession, and the guests provided valuable information about the future of accounting and professional certificates that will help them in the fields of work. Within the framework of enhancing extra-curricular activities for university students, the College of Business Administration, represented by the Department of business analytics and Management Information Systems, headed by Dr. Hawazen Metair, and organized by Dr. Amjad Roboey, with the participation of department students who prepared a full day of events at the University campus in the Corniche. The day included a series of speakers from prestigious organizations to provide enriching scientific lectures for students, including the roadmap for post-graduate students, cloud services and their usefulness for organizations, cybersecurity threats and ways to deal with them. The lectures were presented successively by Engineer Mohammed Al-Haddad, cybersecurity expert and Technical Project Manager, Engineer Salah al-Khawlani, CEO of Salah Company, and engineer Fares al-Zahrani, cybersecurity expert. These lectures aim to support students of business analytics and Management Information Systems and university students in general in determining their career goals and preparing them in the necessary skills in the field and linking their courses to the labor market. The students of the department prepared and organized additional activities in the hall of the University, which began by introducing the specialization to the university students and introducing the relevant professional certificates by preparing brochures and discussion sessions that were welcomed by many students. They also presented social academic competitions to students in the Hall of the University, which contributed to the transfer of knowledge regarding the specialization of business Analytics and Management Information Systems in an educational and entertaining way. The day also included video game competitions for students to add an atmosphere of fun during the day. The College of Business Administration, (CBA) represented by the Department of general subjects and college requirements, organized a workshop entitled (Elegant skills:a set of administrative highlights on soft skills for the Twenty-First Century) presented by Dr. Aziza al-Ghamdi, director of the health department at the Jeddah governorate education department, who holds a doctorate in the field of Educational Administration and planning, the event was attended by students of the general subjects Department. Dr. Aziza al-Ghamdi discussed the most important soft skills in the concepts and methods of modern leadership and management, which are commensurate with the transformations of the future, and which are needed by students and entrepreneurs. The workshop comes within the college's celebrations of the World Tolerance Day, which Dr Aziza referred to in her discussion with students. After the end of the workshop, Dr. Fahad Al-Sharif, director of the cultural activity Administration and assistant professor in the general subjects department, thanked Dr. Al-Ghamdi, and Dr. Wafa al-Yafi, supervisor of the general subjects and college requirements Department, who handed the guest a certificate of thanks and appreciation on behalf of the dean of the College, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, who in turn praises the efforts of the general subjects Department and thanked Dr. Fahad Al-Sharif for organizing and coordinating the enriching events that accompanies formal education.
The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, was honored to accept the invitation at King Abdulaziz University under the patronage of Her Excellency the Acting President Prof. Hana bint Abdullah Al-Naim, the College of Communication and Media held the First Student film Showreel titled "With Their Eyes We Dream". In which a group of student films for graduation projects were screened and the winners were announced by the specialized jury members. Dr. Haneen congratulated the Dean of the College of Communication and Media, Dr. Ayman Bajunaid, and the Vice Dean, Dr. Kholoud Al-milyani, for the excellence in the student works, wishing them more successes and local and international awards, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two Universities and opening up the opportunity for students and professors from both sides to work on joint projects with community impact and impactful academic research.
The University of Business and Technology represented in the College of Business Admonition, through the Departments of Retail Management and Marketing, in cooperation with Jeddah College of Advertising, participated in an international competition presented by Cartier International Company. It was led by Cartier Managing Director, Mr. Bruno Carraz and his team of senior administrators, and in the honor presence of the CEO of the UBT Co., His Excellency Dr. Mohannad bin Abdullah Dahlan. The participating students were from the College of Business Administration and Jeddah College of Advertising who participated in the company's regional competition, where the presentations of five teams were reviewed by Cartier’s team. The University of Business and Technology is proud to be the only Saudi University that participated with (14 teams - four students in each team) from The Bachelor's and Master's levels) in this international competition, which includes the participation of students from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and India under the supervision of a specialized team from Cartier (France), provided that the winning teams will be hosted and honored by the managing director of the company in January 2024. The Dean of the College Dr Haneen praised the support of the University Management to enable this type of international competitions, where Dr. Mohannad Dahlan's encouragement to the participating students was a great incentive for them to make more efforts for success and excellence, she also thanked the great efforts exerted by the Head of the Retail management department Dr. Hatem Garamoun to prepare for this international competition, and thanked the head of the marketing department Dr. Sharifa Ahmed, Dr. Kholod Akkad, Dr. Mohammed Saif and Ms Diyana Fakhreddine for their effective efforts in equipping the student participating in the competition. The Dean congratulated the winning team (Belqis Fakhreddine, Dana alsharbaji, Ali Allam and Dima Fathi), who will qualify for the final stage of the competition in Abu Dhabi. Also, she thanked the participation of all teams encouraging them to always give their best.This participation comes as part of the college's efforts to connect students with realistic projects that translate the curricula into practical plans in the business sector to achieve the University's motto (Education for Job Opportunities).

local and international levels in practice and academically. The participants
enriched the strategic directions of the College of Business Administration's
through enhancing comments for the new strategy (2024-2028) and shared many
proposals to increase graduates’ chances for successful employment. There were
also views on launching new programs and tracks for the College in the
Bachelor's and Master's programs that correspond to the requirements of the
business world with a focus on artificial intelligence, real-life projects and
Community Impact. The Dean
of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked
all the attendees and praised their active participation, which contributes to
raising the level of the College's outputs and supports its strategy for
continuous development to achieve its vision to be a leading college locally
and recognized internationally for high quality business education. The meeting of the advisory
board was marked by the participation of the happy news of the college, as it
is in its first year towards obtaining the internationally prestigious AACSB
academic accreditation, as only 6% of all business schools in the world are
accredited. The advisory
council came up with a number of recommendations to activate the proposals,
which will be announced after studying them and obtaining final approval from
the higher authorities of the University. Finally, the council
ended by signing two Memorandums of Understandings with Eng. Saad Mohammed
Alazem, Managing Partner at Value Accuracy Co. Crowe KSA, and the other with Mr
Mohammad Mohandes, Partner at Al Azem, Al Sudairy, Al Shaikh and partners for Professional
Consultations. The Memorandums aim to strengthen the relation between academia
and practice ensuring bridging students experiences to the business sector.
As part of the Entrepreneurship Week, the Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Unit at the College of Business Administration CBA, represented by its Head Ms. Lina Kutbi, organized a lecture in collaboration with Dr. Halah Nassif's Mobile Application and Web Development class. The event hosted Mr. Mohammed Milyani, Founder and CEO of Nqoodlet and a technical writer, in a workshop titled “How to build apps.” Students from the College of Business as well as the College of Engineering attended the lecture. The lecture focused on the various technical and revenue-generating aspects of creating successful applications and provided participants with an interactive learning experience. The Dean of the College of Business Administration Dr. Haneen Shoaib thanked the wonderful efforts of Ms Lina Kutbi and Dr. Halah Nassif, Dr. Rania Baashirah, Ms. Diana and Ms. Amira who has been invaluable to the success of the event.
The University of business and technology is proud of the participation of the delegation of the College of Business Administration in the International Conference of AACSB, in Rome, Italy, over three days from 26-27 of November 2023, headed by the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib and the membership of both the consultant of the University Vice rectorship for Quality Dr. Qadri Al-Jabri and member of the international quality team Dr. Daliah Taibah. As the college is taking steady steps towards AACSB International accreditation, the first day of the conference was full of enriching sessions on important topics for the future of business schools globally, through sustainability, community impact, artificial intelligence and many important matters that determine the present state of business schools to create a better future to serve the world.
The College of Business Administration, represented by the Accounting Department, organized a scientific trip for one of the world's largest accounting and auditing firms (KPMG). A group of accounting students from two campuses participated in this trip. The company's experts provided detailed information about the company and its differentiated activities (The audit work, advisory activities, and zakat and tax services). They furthermore explained training and employment opportunities. The company's experts responded to the students' various inquiries and provided them with information that will assist them in choosing their future field of work, and how they could advance and achieve their goals. At the end of the two-hour trip, Dr. Ahmed Qotb, Head of the Department, and Dr. Eman Attia, Assistant Professor in the Department, extended their thanks to the company’s experts, and also the appreciation of Dr. Haneen Shoaib, Dean of the College, to the KPMG company, specifically to Mr. Nasser Al-Shatiri, a partner of KPMG, who facilitated the organization for the interesting trip as well as presented the company's officials with a certificate of appreciation.
The College of Business Administration delegation from the University of Business and Technology was honored to attend the international accreditation conference AACSB. AACSB was established in 1916 as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). It is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that independently reviews business schools across the globe and is perceived to be one of the most challenging and prestigious accreditations. The conference concluded with sessions discussing the importance of diversity in the academic offering in terms of interdisciplinary disciplines to serve the needs of the future demands of work, the importance of universality, innovation, and artificial intelligence in shaping the future of business schools in addition to the extent of building local and international bridges to enable social impact through business schools globally. At the end, a photo was taken with the regional Head of AACSB, Mr. Ihsan Zakari, with the Leader of the delegation of UBT, the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, and the consultant of the University Vice rectorship for Quality Dr. Qadri Al-Jabri as well as the member of the International Quality Team in the college Dr. Daliah Taibah. It is worth mentioning that the University of business and technology is the only representative of Saudi Universities at the International Conference.
The Human Resources Department held a day dedicated to the department’s students, led by Professor Syed Zafar and all the department’s faculty members. The HRM Day was a very successful event that brought together HRM students and experts from esteemed organizations where students enjoyed the event and shared their passion for learning and development. The day included many enriching and diverse activities. Starting with a lecture on the importance of physical health of employees titled(How to Stay Fit at Your WorkSeat). The lecture was presented by the founder of the AB Fitness Club, Mrs. Amal Baatiya. This was followed by a workshop presented by Bayt Employment platform titled (Writing a CV for Electronic Screening ), presented by Mr. Ahmed Mandoura and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Zahim. Then the students enjoyed a rich dialogue titled(Human Resources from Theory to Practice). This was followed by an enriching discussion that took place between an elite group of managers specializing in human resources management: Ms. Magdolin Bukhari (Chief People & Culture Officer - EVIQ), Mr. Yasser Abu Zinada (Manager, Tax and Legal Services Human Capital, PWC), Mr. Marwan Fadel (Regional Director of Human Resources in Saudi Arabia and the Levant for the Hilton Group), Mr. Turki Al-Balawi (Senior Director of Rewards at Bupa), Mr. Haitham Zamzami (Director of HR, Alnahdi Transportation Company), and the dialogue was moderated by Dr. Suhad Farsi. The University of Business and Technology's College of Business Administration represented by the Marketing department organized a workshop titled "Driving Brand Success through Integrated Communications". The workshop was conducted on the 29th of November 2023 at the UBT Corniche campus. The workshop is directly related to Marketing students, and they are very interested in the topic. The workshop was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sharifah Ahmad, Head of the Marketing Department, and was led by Ms. Doha Zagzoug, a UBT Alumni from the Master of Business Administration (Marketing) program, with 12 years of work experience. Ms. Doha is currently an Associate Manager Brand Loyalty at Saudi Amad for Airport Services & Transport Support (SAAS). Also in attendance is the industry expert who is teaching part-time at the university, Dr. Yusra Khogeer, Marketing and Branding Consultant, Siad Holding. The CBA Dean Dr. Haneen Shoaib thanked the organizers from CBA and Ms. Doha for supporting the development of students' marketing skills and emphasized the value of attending such workshops to broaden students' knowledge, develop their skills, and prepare them for the workplace.
The University of Business and Technology (UBT) in Jeddah has announced a strategic collaboration with Blue Ocean, a global leader in supply chain training. The memorandum of understanding was signed on November 27th at the university's headquarters in Jeddah. The agreement was signed by the President of UBT, Dr. Weam Tunsi, and Dr. Sathya Menon, the CEO of Blue Ocean, in the presence of Dr. Bandar Altubaishi, Head of Supply Chain Management Department, and Dr. Musab Habani. This agreement solidifies the partnership between the two institutions, with the aim of achieving knowledge empowerment through education, and a commitment to excellence, innovation, and mutual success. Dr. Weam Tunsi, President of UBT, stated, "This partnership is a great start to help students access the right source of knowledge and equip themselves with the required skills to adapt seamlessly in the job market." The Supply Chain Management Department at the College of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Elite Distinguished Management Consulting Office, held a workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence and its Uses in Supply Chain Management” on Thursday, December 14, 2023. A number of experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs participated in the workshop. Dr. Salem Al-Jazzar, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Business and Technology, shared the results of his scientific research on how to benefit from artificial intelligence to improve the supply chain. Mr. Luca Fino from McKinsey also presented real-world examples of artificial intelligence and explained to the students and attendees the importance of recognizing and dealing with artificial intelligence websites such as GenAI. Mr. Abdul Majeed Marzouk also explained the areas of creativity and development required by the labor market and must be available to graduate students, especially how to train artificial intelligence to make more accurate decisions. Entrepreneur, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, CO-founder of Benny for Purchasing and Supply Solutions, added practical experience to the attendees on how Benny can benefit from artificial intelligence to help customers and the company improve decision-making. The workshop concluded with a panel discussion conducted by Dr. Karim Soliman, a faculty member in the Supply Chain Management Department at the College of Business Administration. Dr. Haneen Shoaib, Dean of the College of Business Administration, expressed her appreciation for these scientific workshops, which effectively contribute to educating students about the latest technology used in their field of specialization and contribute to introducing students to distinguished entrepreneurs who have achieved success in the fields of supply chains. The University of Business and Technology was represented by Professor Najat Abdul Rahman Al-Yaziji, who is the general supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit and a faculty member in the College of Business Administration's General Subjects Department at the thirteenth international conference on Arabic language and literature held at the University of Kerala, India between January 15 and 17, where she presented a speech to the international conference participants. The conference was inaugurated in the presence of Her Excellency the Minister of Higher Education in India and deans of Kerala Universities. It also featured many researchers from all over the world at the conference. Dr. Najat chaired the second session of the conference, entitled (The efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Arabic language). Furthermore, she presented a research paper entitled Teaching the Arabic language remotely (its importance, strategies, pros and cons).
The EICEEAI came to a successful close on December 29, 2023. The three-day event, hosted by Zarqa University, Jordan brought together researchers to discuss the latest advancements and trends in the above-mentioned fields. CBA’s Lecturer in the Retail Management Department, Ms. Nihayatul Diyana Pakharuddin presented her paper titled "Augmented Reality as Emerging Technology in Retail Sector: A Discussion on Present and Future Perspective". The paper, co-authored by Dr. Suzilawati Kamarudin, explored the application of augmented reality (AR) in the retail sector and delved into its present and future prospects. The author shed light on the potential of AR technology to revolutionize the retail industry, enhancing customer experiences and improving business operations. With the ability to overlay virtual elements onto the real world, AR has the power to transform how consumers interact with products and brands.
In collaboration between the University of Business and Technology and Eduindustry, an initiative by the Global Shapers community in Jeddah, focused on supporting students in their local schools. The University enthusiastically embraced this initiative, affirming its active role in aiding high school students to achieve their professional aspirations. An entrepreneurship workshop was conducted on campus, facilitated by Hassan Qadi, Vice Curator of the Global Shapers community in Jeddah, and Asmaa Shams, an MBA student at the UBT. Approximately 60 students from schools like 'My Little House,' 'House of Knowledge,' and 'Duwhat Aljazira School' attended the workshop. Eduindustry, as part of the Global Shapers community in Jeddah, seeks partnerships with new institutions and companies to provide practical training opportunities for students. These efforts aim to enhance students' understanding of the job market and equip them with essential skills. The partnership between the University of Business and Technology and Eduindustry reflects the University's commitment in supporting educational initiatives and providing opportunities for students. An MOU has been signed between UBT and Injaz Saudi Arabia. The agreement is utilized to host the "Company Program" competition, which allows students the opportunity to set up their own businesses and gain experience in entrepreneurial skills, as part of this collaboration, later on, an introduction to "company program" and an introduction to project management workshop was organized in collaboration with Injaz and presented by Mr. Ahmed Etawi, the program implementation manager as part of the unit's first event of the current semester, the event was attended by students from all four colleges. This event is organized by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit, represented by Ms.Lina Kutbi to actualize the university slogan Education for Job Opportunities and Entrepreneurship.

The University of Business and Technology presented in the College of Business Administration through the Department of Business Analytics and Management Information System, participated through a team of female students led by Dr. Halah Nasseif, and achieved remarkable performance in the AG Software competition. They advanced to the top positions, getting placed among the top 3 teams in the sustainability track out of 25 Universities in Saudi Arabia. The team returned from Riyadh after accepting an invitation from AG Software, represented by Ms. Shurooq Mohammed and Mr. Mohammed Al-Shehri, to attend the innovation workshop. This was held at STC Innovation Lab in collaboration with STC. They also met with the assigned mentors for each team in the competition. Dean of CBA Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, congratulated the team of students led by Dr. Halah Nasseif and the students: Dina Al-Khamash, Samia Idris, Luluah Al-Sinai, and Milaf bin Halabi, for reaching the final stage of the LEAP qualifications. She also wished them success at the final stage. On Monday, February 5, 2024, a delegation from the University of Business and Technology and the Director General of the Technical Valley visited Jeddah Valley at King Abdul Aziz University. The visit witnessed a rich program of discussions and highlighted the potential for constructive cooperation between these prominent institutions. The delegation of the University of Business and Technology, consisting of Dr. Hatem Akeel, Vice-Chancellor of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Basma El Zein, Director-General of the Technical Valley and Dr. Roaa Ben Siddiq, Dean of Scientific Research, was received by the new Chief Executive Officer of the Jeddah Valley of Professor Sattam Lingawi. The visit program began with presentations highlighting the core competencies and visions of both the Jeddah Valley and the Technical Valley at the University of Business and Technology. The presentations served as a platform for brainstorming and exploring collaboration on innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship. The parties have found common ground for mutual initiatives. The visit culminated in a tour of the Jeddah Valley Buildings, with special emphasis on the I- one Center, which is the source of innovation and creativity and is also the first and only partial imaging center of its kind in the western region to produce radioisotopes and early detection of cancer tumors. The delegation had the opportunity to visit the state-of-the-art facilities and resources available in the Jeddah Valley. It offered the possibility of future cooperation in technology transfer and entrepreneurship support. The visit of the Business and Technology University delegation and the Director General of the Technical Valley to the Jeddah Valley at King Abdulaziz University is an important step in promoting innovation-based partnerships. This visit reinforces collaborative efforts in technical transfer and entrepreneurship in the region. They advanced to the highest positions, securing a spot in the semi-finals, and gained recognition for their outstanding investment research.
The Training Center, in collaboration with the Intellectual Awareness Unit, organized a distinguished interactive workshop titled "Administrative Correspondence for Employees of the University of Business and Technology." The esteemed supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, Prof. Najat Al-Yazji, delivered the workshop. The workshop witnessed a remarkable attendance by university employees working in various departments and divisions. The workshop aims to enhance the participants' practical skills in administrative correspondence. The workshop included a review of best practices in writing letters and emails, highlighting common mistakes and how to avoid them. It also featured practical exercises, interactive activities, and real-life administrative correspondence. Participants received immediate feedback and guidance from Prof. Najat Al-Yazji. The College of Business Administration (CBA) presented in the Finance Department hosted Dr. Himayun Dar, the Director General of Cambridge Academy of Islamic Finance to deliver an insighful seminar on "Islamic Banking and Finance, western perspective and its implicatiins for the muslim world". The seminar stirred interest not only among Islamic Finance students and faculty members, but also gathered participation from Arabic Language and Islamic culture professors. Dr. Haneen ,the Dean of the CBA, escorted the disnguished speaker to a campus tour and discussed the possibilities of various collaborations with the Cambridge Academy in the UK for summer programs and trainings.
The University of Business and Technology Engineering Student Club organized the "Day with Sans" initiative in cooperation with SANS. The initiative included hosting two workshops titled Project Management, which covered different topics from project planning, implementation, monitoring, and effective closure, and then a cybersecurity workshop titled "Information Security" that included topics about network security, cyber threats, ethical hacking, and data protection. Sans experts participated in many tips and best practices in the field of information security with the attendees. The initiative ended with an enriching panel discussion bringing together Sans representatives, employees, and university students to enhance knowledge and skills that provide students with a valuable opportunity to learn and interact in a real working environment.

The theme of the Summit, "Cultures of innovation: Elevating quality education for a thriving Middle East" was attended by distinguished and higher education leaders from 35 countries. The College of Business Administration takes pride in its graduates from the MBA program for the year 2022, who developed their project idea through the “Business Strategies course.” They are Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, Hashem Laban, and Mohammad Kutbi. They worked on developing an application that caters to all bottled water companies and brands and created an application called "Today Water.” Which has already been implemented at competitive prices and a commercial register has been opened under the name of "Today Water." The University of Business and Technology (UBT) team qualifies through its College of Business Administration (CBA) and Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA) students in the Cartier Regional Business Competition in UAE on the 25th and 26th January 2024. The team of four students qualified to be in the top 4 teams against more than 170 teams and over 650 students across the region.The Dean of the College Dr Haneen Shoaib congratulated the four students for this great achievement. The student team, named Arabian Emerald, consists of three Bachelor of Science in Marketing students – Dana Alsharbaji (team leader), Balqees Pakharuddin, Deema Fathi – and Jeddah College of Advertising student – Ali Allam.Earlier this month, six of Cartier’s senior administrators evaluated and selected the top 5 teams at UBT. They also attended the presentation of these 5 teams and selected the UBT winner. As there are several Universities from UAE, Turkey, India and Saudi Arabia joining the competition, only the top 4 teams would qualify to the final stage – they were hosted and honored by Ms. Sophie Doireau, Cartier’s CEO of the Middle East, India and Africa (MEIAT) on 24th and 25th January 2024. Amongst the program in Dubai for the students involved visiting the Lourve Abu Dhabi, specifically the “Cartier, Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design” exhibition, and the Cartier office in Dubai. Therefore, it is a great achievement indeed for the UBT student team to be chosen amongst the top 4 teams in the region. The students competed in the Dubai Knowledge Park Auditorium against teams from the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UAE), SDA Bocconi - Mumbai (India), Koc University, Istanbul (Turkey). The delegates look forward to engaging with different participants to learn about the latest trends and best practices in cybersecurity.

The University of Business and Technology (UBT), in collaboration with the AlBir Society Jeddah, organized a seminar titled “Volunteering: A Leader’s Vision and a Nation’s Message,” to share experiences and expertise in volunteer work, promote a culture of volunteering, and exchange knowledge in community development. In coordination with the Training Center at UBT, the meeting began with a workshop on professional volunteering presented by Dr. YanAllah Al-Qarni, a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University specialized in curriculum and teaching development. Al-Qarni discussed the importance of sustainable volunteering and shared the main elements of professional volunteer work. The Community Responsibility Center at UBT also organized a panel of inspiring speakers who shared their experience in volunteer and humanitarian work. Speakers included Mr. Mohammed Saeed AbuMilha, a member of the Board of Directors of AlBir Society Jeddah and the President of the Volunteer Club; Eng. Muhi-Aldeen Yahya Hakami, the CEO of AlBir Society Jeddah; Mr. Rayan Omar Bawakid, the Director of Volunteering at the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Jeddah; and Ms. Jude Ahmed Jamjom, a founding partner at Jeddah Tribe. Mr. Mohammed Saeed AbuMilha provided an overview of AlBir Society Jeddah and highlighted the society’s programs and services that meet the needs of families, orphans, and kidney failure patients. Muhi-Aldeen Yahya Hakami, the CEO of AlBir Society Jeddah, discussed the society’s efforts in social work and sustainable impact and discussed its transformation into an economic entity that provides charitable services to different kinds of beneficiaries with professionalism. Mr. Ryan Omar Bawakid, the Director of Volunteer Management at the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, presented the various fields available for volunteering at the Saudi Red Crescent, which included: emergency medical services, education, environment, and humanitarian aid. He shared how volunteering has affected his personal life, as he has been involved in volunteer work for over 13 years. Ms. Jude Ahmed Jamjoom, a founding partner at Jeddah Tribe, shed light on the club’s activities and its contribution to developing the sport of triathlon (swimming, running, cycling) in Saudi Arabia. Their vision includes promoting all forms and distances of triathlon races in the Kingdom through raising awareness, organizing races, and training local talents. Jamjoom also highlighted Jeddah Tribe’s experiences in sustainable volunteer work. In addition, the Dean of Research Affairs, Dr. Ruaa Bin Saddig, showcased the department's key achievements in 2023, emphasizing the pivotal role and valuable contributions of faculty members and research coordinators in the colleges as indispensable success partners. The discussion also revealed the new publishing target for 2024 and explored strategic pathways to effectively achieve this goal. Faculty members demonstrated a cooperative spirit and dedication to achieving research excellence, which is an essential part of the University of Business and Technology's pursuit of research excellence.
UBT is thrilled to announce that Dr. Basma EL zein, the Director General of the Techno Valley at UBT, Jeddah, KSA, has been selected as one of the finalists for the prestigious Global Energy Transition Awards 2024, organized by Reuters. She has been recognized in the “Woman for Women” category for her outstanding contributions to the energy transition sector. The Global Energy Transition Awards recognize and celebrate the remarkable efforts and achievements of individuals and organizations driving innovation, sustainability, and progress in the global energy landscape. The Global Energy Transition Awards 2024 winners will be revealed during the event scheduled for June 2024.
The University of Business and Technology engaged in an iftar campaign distributing meals to underprivileged families in Al-Ruwais neighborhood in Jeddah. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Joy of Youth Association and under the supervision and coordination of the University's Center for Community Responsibility and the Volunteer Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs. The initiative saw the participation of students from all four colleges of the university, as well as several faculty members and university staff. They enthusiastically joined us in this community initiative on Friday 12th Ramadan 1445H March 22, 2024G. The objective of this initiative is to enhance the participation of university students and staff in community activities and events, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all participants for their efforts and sense of social responsibility.
On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the University of Business and Technology, represented by His Excellency the University President, Dr. Weam Tunsi, signed a memorandum of understanding with Alnahdi Transportation, represented Mr.Hani Alghamdi, CEO Alnahdi Transportation. The signing of the memorandum was coordinated under the leadership of the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, through the Industry Relations Unit under the supervision of the Head of the Unit, Dr. Alaa Lary and Ms. Lina Kutbi Entrepreneurship and innovation unit head. A group of senior leadership from Alnahdi Transportation visited, represented by Mr. Haitham Zamzami (General Director of Human Resources Department).The visit included an introductory tour of the University’s Corniche campus facilities and the latest developments in the building. This agreement aims to provide cooperative training opportunities for graduate students, prepare them for the labor market, enable them to interact with the future work environment, deal with community members from outside the university, and gain sufficient experience to enable them to be employed directly after graduation. The signing of the memorandum is considered an extension of achieving the University’s strategy, which focuses on strengthening relations between the University and companies to link knowledge with the business world in order to facilitate enabling students to predict the expectations of the local and regional market.
The Retail Management Department, from the College of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Head of the Industry Relations Unit, Dr. Alaa Lary, organized a tour of Panda Supermarket. The visit was attended by Dr. Hatem Garamoun and Dr. Sarah Zakour from the Retail Department. The visit began with a presentation given by Mr. Mohanad Saidi, Mr. Marwan Al-Hajj, Ms. Sarah AlQahtani, and Ms. Sarah Shata. Panda’s team emphasized their commitment to partnering with the educational sector, providing students with both theoretical and practical knowledge about retail operations, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to strengthen the country’s retail and logistics sectors. Following the presentation, the Panda team took the students on a comprehensive tour of their storage facilities, showcasing advanced operational methods and smart technologies. The tour then continued into the store, where the students observed the efficient product display systems in action. Through this experience, the students gained valuable insights into the complexities of retail logistics, enhancing their understanding of real-world retail operations.

This prestigious congress, organized in collaboration with Hassan II University of Casablanca, ENSC, and ENSET, gathered scholars and researchers worldwide, fostering meaningful discussions and paving the way for exciting new research collaborations. Representing UBT with pride, our esteemed faculty members— Dr. Rowyeadh Tobar, Head of Insurance and Risk Management; Professor. Hoda Mansour was in the Finance Department, and Dr. Eman Attia, Associate Professor in Accounting, took on roles as session chairs and presenters. We’re also proud to spotlight our master’s student, Ms. Lina Badwie, from the CBA’s Accounting Department, who presented her research at the congress. Their contributions were invaluable, adding depth and perspective to the ongoing dialogue on innovative ideas and global research trends. In addition, one of our faculty members had the valuable opportunity to visit a consultant from Al Akhawayn University, further expanding our network and opening doors for potential future collaborations. This experience allowed us to engage deeply with global experts, forge promising new connections, and contribute meaningfully to the congress's success.
In the effective participation of the College of Advertising in the Athar Festival over four days between the involvement of students in the Athar Academy for Youth and the participation of the college as an academic partner and sponsor of the festival, the team of students from the College of Advertising, Lana Al-Ghanem, and Anhar Asti, won the Athar Creative Academy competition. We are very proud of our students’ constant excellence in all forums.
90 UBT English Language students and staff visited the IKEA Jeddah Showroom for an extracurricular activity. IKEA was chosen because its sustainability strategy is aligned with the strategy of UBT as well as the National Geographic Learning Curriculum used by UBT Academy. Throughout the tour, the fantastic staff of IKEA Jeddah focused the conversation around healthy and sustainable living. After the tour, students enjoyed a complimentary lunch in the IKEA Restaurant, followed by a writing activity; in the coming days, students will do presentations around their takeaways from the activity. IKEA also gave thoughtful gift bags to all attendees, which included, among other items, a reusable shopping tool, further encouraging students to move towards a sustainable future. UBT Academy would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ghassan Ahmed Al Soliman, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Soliman Group, for generously hosting our students. Students from the Supply Chain Management Department at the University of Business and Technology recently participated in an educational field visit to Binzagr Logistics, designed to enhance their understanding of advanced logistics technologies and operational strategies in a real-world setting. The initiative was organized by Head of Industry Relations Dr. Alaa Lary, under the supervision of the Department Head, Dr. Karim Soliman, with support from faculty members Dr. Mayada Qari and Ms. Maha Basha. During the visit, students were introduced to a range of cutting-edge logistics applications actively used by Binzagr Logistics, including automated inventory systems, data-driven demand forecasting, and streamlined distribution processes. They observed live demonstrations of effective operations management tailored to meet current market demands, providing them with direct exposure to the tools and practices that drive operational efficiency. The experience enabled students to engage directly with industry professionals, allowing for in-depth discussions and insights into the challenges and opportunities facing companies in this rapidly evolving sector. Additionally, students gained firsthand knowledge of how logistics companies like Binzagr adapt to market changes, improve operational performance, and leverage technology to maintain competitive advantage. The University of Business and Technology's College of Business Administration represented by the Marketing Department organized a workshop about Sports Marketing under the supervision of Dr. Kholod Aggad and supported by the Marketing Department Head of Department, Dr. Sharifah Ahmad. The workshop was led by Mr. Moammar Salam, Sales Director at Saudi Motorsports. The workshop was conducted on the 21st of October 2024 at the UBT Corniche campus. The workshop is directly related to Marketing as well as Sports Management students, as he spoke in detail about sports marketing strategies and distinguished two important concepts - “sport of marketing” and “sport through marketing”. He also provided various examples from the sports industry to illustrate his points. His interesting points and engaging talk gave valuable insights into the marketing practices in Sports industry. The Marketing Department and the College of Business Administration thank Mr. Moammar for his support in imparting his vast knowledge and experience in this increasingly important industry in the Kingdom. Special appreciation is also given to Dr. Masheal Batarfi and Dr. Marko Begovic from the Sports Management Department for their valuable participation and for encouraging students to attend and engage in the session. On Thursday, November 28th, 2024, the University of Business and Technology, represented by its President, Dr. Weam Tunsi, signed an MoU with Red Sea Gate Terminal. The agreement was organized by Prof. Haneen Shoaib, Dean of the College of Business Administration and the Industry Relations Unit, led by Dr. Alaa Lary. The MoU was signed by Eng. Hamdi Nadhrah, managing director/deputy CEO of Red Sea Gate Terminal, in the presence of Mr. Raed Tantawi, the company's HR director. The agreement aims to provide senior students with practical training opportunities, enhancing their skills and preparing them for the workforce. It aligns with UBT’s goal of bridging academic knowledge with industry needs, offering students valuable experience to improve their career prospects.
As part of its commitment to supporting student activities and fostering community partnerships, and under the supervision of the Community Responsibility Center, students from Ibn Sina College led several awareness campaigns at the University of Business and Technology throughout the first semester. The series began in October with "Every Drop Counts," a campaign on the importance of blood donation and its health benefits. This was followed by a campaign on drug prevention, highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals and society, and another on types of anemia, offering health and nutrition tips for prevention. The students concluded their efforts with an awareness campaign on epilepsy, addressing its types and essential first-aid measures. Dr. Liela Ahmed Jamjoom, Director of the Community Responsibility Center, emphasized the value of these academic partnerships in fostering knowledge sharing and awareness among students, benefiting the community as a whole.
As part of its cultural and artistic activities, poet Dr. Abdulelah Al-Thagafi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing, participated in a poetry evening on November 19, 2024, at the Jeddah Literary and Cultural Club. The event attracted a distinguished audience of writers and intellectuals, where he presented a selection of his poems. This evening was part of a series of events organized by the Jeddah Literary and Cultural Club, aimed at supporting and enhancing the literary scene in the region, as well as encouraging poetic talent to innovate and engage with the audience.
Dr. Bandar Altubaishe, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration, participated in the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) held in Riyadh on November 2, 2024. Dr. Altubaishe highlighted the importance of infrastructure projects in ports, airports, and railways to enhance the efficiency of supply chains, their active role in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and their economic impact on both national and global levels.Dr. Altubaishe also discussed the importance of investing in information technology and modern technologies to ensure the integration and quality of infrastructure projects and improve the efficiency of logistical operations. He noted that the development of these projects is a key factor in strengthening the Kingdom’s capabilities to become a leading regional hub in the fields of supply chain and transportation. The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Haneen Shoaib, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Bandar Altubaishe for his active participation and valuable contributions to the conference, which enriched the discussions and offered practical insights to advance the sector’s growth. The Career Center and Community Responsibility Center at the University of Business and Technology, in collaboration with the “Mutqen” program (the community service arm of Basamh Group), organized a training session titled “Discover Your Depths.” The session aimed to empower students to enhance self-awareness, manage relationships, and develop their career paths using the DISC personality assessment. 60 students participated in this interactive session. The course was facilitated by Dr. Abobakr Aljuwaiber, Associate Professor of Knowledge Management at Taibah University, member of the British Academy of Management, and ambassador of the Mutqen program, who enriched the session with his expertise and knowledge. The Career Center and Community Responsibility Center also extend a special thanks to Mr. Ahmed Bahurmuz for establishing this partnership with the Mutqen program, which continues to provide meaningful training programs and educational resources for students and university staff. As part of its partnership with CreativeMornings Jeddah, which offers free monthly lectures to spark creativity and inspire youth across various sectors, the University of Business and Technology (UBT) hosted Coach Mohanned Shobain on Saturday, November 30th, as part of its Inspiring Community Series. Coach Shobain delivered an interactive lecture where he shared his journey from being a content creator and entrepreneur to becoming the first Saudi coach accredited by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and founding Swish Academy. The academy is dedicated to training young athletes and nurturing a new generation of basketball talent in Saudi Arabia. The event drew nearly 100 attendees from diverse community sectors. Coach Shobain praised the university’s role in knowledge dissemination and community engagement. He was particularly impressed to learn about UBT’s sports management program, which he highlighted as a testament to the university’s ambitious vision to promote specialized education and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
College of Business Administration, represented by the Marketing Department, in collaboration with the Industrial Relations Unit under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Lary, organized a field trip for Marketing students to BRF on 7th November 2024. This trip was organized to enhance students’ practical understanding of Marketing in BRF, especially in relation to its leading brand in KSA - Sadia. The visit was led by Dr. Sharifah Ahmad, Head of the Marketing Department with the participation of six senior Marketing students. The selected small group of students was necessary as the visit was designed to ensure students were able to access various locations smoothly. The visit began by meeting three BRF sales managers who led the students in visiting two wholesale stores at Al-Safa district in Jeddah. The managers explained in detail about how Sadia’s various products are being sold in these wholesale stores. The students were also shown where Sadia’s products are displayed in the stores, including the extra supplies in storage freezers at the back of the stores. The explanations and visuals within the stores were invaluable as they gave the students a clear understanding of the Marketing operations for Sadia products directed to wholesalers. The second half of the visit continued at the BRF office at the Headquarters Business Park, hosted by BRF’s KSA Talent Acquisition Lead, Ms. Rayanah Alhusaini. The students were introduced to BRF and its operations, including various recent initiatives such as the joint venture with the Halal Products Development Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). The briefing also included the latest innovations surrounding Sadia’s products. After the briefing, the students were shown around the company, where they were able to meet BRF’s staff, including those working in the Trade Marketing unit. Both parts of the trip enabled the students to make the connection between the Marketing operations in the office and the dealings with business customers, such as the wholesalers they visited earlier. This practical experience offered the students valuable insights into how the marketing concepts they have been studying in classrooms are applied in real life, connecting theoretical knowledge with practical implementation. Prof. Haneen Shoaib, Dean of the College of Business Administration, commended the college's ongoing commitment to linking academic knowledge with real-life business experiences. She emphasized that this exposure is important in enhancing students' skills, competencies, and knowledge, which will enable them to be more competitive in the job market.
Students from the Supply Chain Management Department recently participated in an educational field visit to Zahid Truck Manufacturing Company, aimed at deepening their understanding of industrial operations and supply chain processes in the manufacturing sector. The visit was organized by Dr. Alaa Lary, under the supervision of the Department Head, Dr. Karim Soliman, with active support from faculty member Mrs. Maha Basha, who is also the Deputy Director of the University’s Training Center. During the visit, the students observed firsthand the end-to-end truck manufacturing processes at the Zahid factory, from initial design and component assembly to rigorous quality inspections. The technical team at Zahid Truck Manufacturing provided detailed explanations of the role of supply chain integration in ensuring production efficiency, cost management, and product quality. This field experience offered students the opportunity to witness the practical applications of their academic studies and engage directly with industry professionals. Through interactive sessions, students gained valuable insights into challenges faced by the manufacturing sector and how companies like Zahid implement strategic supply chain solutions to overcome these challenges. Prof. Haneen Shoeib, Dean of the College of Business Administration, praised the initiative, highlighting its alignment with the college’s vision of integrating academic learning with hands-on industry experience. She emphasized the importance of these visits in equipping students with the practical knowledge and competencies required to excel in the competitive job market. The University of Business and Technology was honored by the Jeddah Municipality during the “Million Volunteers Forum 3,” held on January 15-16, 2025, at the Jeddah Exhibition and Conference Center, in recognition of its pioneering role in supporting volunteer work and community service. This recognition came as a result of a strong partnership with the municipality, which led to several volunteer and community initiatives, including participation in the promotional film for the forum, “Thank You, One in a Million.” The film featured the recognition of prominent figures who have made a significant impact on community development, including Dr. Abdullah Dahlan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who was honored for his efforts in social development. The university also participated in the accompanying exhibition, showcasing its projects and programs aimed at supporting community initiatives and enhancing their positive impact on society.

A group of 40 students from the Supply Chain and Industrial Engineering departments of UBT had an educational visit to Unilever's in Jeddah, the trip was organized by the Industry Relations Unit As a part of an ongoing effort to bridge academic learning and industry practice. Starting a briefing on health and safety protocols led by Unilever’s Safety Manager, emphasizing the importance of safety measures during the visit. Mr. Mohannad Rizq, Factory Manager for Unilever KSA, initiated the session with a detailed overview of the manufacturing supply chain operations in Jeddah. His insights provided the students with a real-world perspective on the complexities and dynamics of supply chain management. Adding an international dimension to the learning experience, Shailendra Sadera, Head of Supply Chain B&W for Unilever Europe, ME, Turkey, and ANZ, shared his extensive journey and experiences at Unilever. Notably, this visit marked Mr. Sadera's first day in Saudi Arabia, highlighting his enthusiasm for engaging with the next generation of supply chain professionals. At the conclusion of the visit, the students impressed Unilever managers with thoughtful and insightful questions, demonstrating their keen interest and understanding of the industry. At the end, Dr. Karim Soliman, Head of the Supply Chain Management Department, and Dr. Noor Al-Maaitah, a faculty member at the Supply Chain Department, presented certificates of appreciation to the Unilever managers on behalf of UBT, Highlighting the importance of industry-academic collaboration and its mutual benefits.
A lecture was conducted on innovative fashion marketing by guest speaker Ms. Joud Fatani, the founder of Noms Life. Ms. Joud discussed her brand and marketing strategies, including the creation of a set of unique characters and their profiles. She also highlighted her participation in Paris Fashion Week. The lecture was attended by students from the Retail Management class, taught by Dr. Karim Soliman whom we would like to thank, and revolved around what they are studying in the course, with examples drawn from practical experience.
The Skills Accelerator series at the College of Business Administration (CBA) continues with its second session, focusing on the usage of AI applications presented by the students Fares Farhan and Saif Damanhouri. They captivated the audience with a demonstration of AI tools. The interactive demo allowed students from the Academic English class taught by Mr. Abdullah Alkhazzan, whom we thank, to actively engage and explore the practical applications of AI technology. The duo showcased how AI can be seamlessly integrated into everyday tasks, making processes more efficient and intelligent. The engaging presentation by Mr. Fares Farhan and Mr. Saif Damanhouri left the audience inspired to explore further applications of AI. The series continues to empower students with the latest knowledge and skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

As part of the Community Responsibility Center initiatives, the University of Business and Technology (UBT), in collaboration with Creative Mornings, hosted Dr. Mohammed Hakim for an interactive lecture titled “Building Trust in Career Choices” on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Dr. Hakim shared his personal experiences with trust and discussed the importance of building trust and confidence in career decisions. In line with UBT’s commitment to spreading knowledge and life experiences, the lecture was open to the public, including students, faculty, and staff of the university. Held in the university’s main auditorium, the event attracted approximately 500 people from various community segments.
The University of Business and Technology participated in a blood donation campaign under the slogan "Every Drop Counts" organized by the Hilton Jeddah Hotel on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The campaign witnessed the participation of university staff and students, who actively engaged in donating blood, recognizing the importance of this humanitarian initiative and its role in saving the lives of many patients and those in need. This participation aligns with the university's commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote the values of cooperation and giving within the community.
The College of Business Administration at UBT welcomed back its faculty members following the summer break with an overview of the latest news and activities occurring at the college, which was presented by the college dean, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, who also celebrated the faculty members' recent research achievements. The vice deans, Dr. Ramzia Albakri and Dr. Bandar AlTubaishe, welcomed faculty members back to the college as well. At the event, the President, Dr. Weam Tunsi, and the Vice Presidents of UBT announced the launch of the Hospitality and Tourism Department, the latest addition to the college. They also congratulated the Finance Department on its international accreditation renewal (EFMD). Moreover, the General Department announced the publication of two books. The CBA is proud of its faculty members' accomplishments and wishes them continued success in the upcoming academic year.
MG company welcomed UBT students through the organization of the college of business administration, at their booth at the Jeddah Cornish circuit. This was by invitation of UBT alumni Mr. Naif Alrabee, Director of Corporate Communications at Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Group. The students had the chance to explore the newest MG car models and learn about their features. This event was part of the Summer Speed Festival of Jeddah Season. At the circuit, the students also met Mr. Mohammed Al Harbi, a fellow UBT student from the sports management department and a member of the festival staff.

The University of Business and Technology, represented by the College of Advertising, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Saudi Media Academy during the Ignite The ADs event held in Riyadh at the King Abdullah Financial Center during the period from May 28 - 31. The agreement includes cooperation in the field of cooperative training, establishing academic programs, providing advisory services, cooperation in holding workshops and other fields. The university was represented at the signing by Dr Hatoon Zuhair Kadi, Dean of the College of Advertising, and from the Academy by His Excellency Engineer Khaled Zain Al-Abidin, CEO of the Academy. These agreements come within efforts to enhance communication with relevant authorities and decision makers, which ensures that the university keeps pace with the requirements of the labor market and provides opportunities for students, and also ensures continuous access to events and movement in all relevant fields.
The College of Business Administration at the University of business and technology is proud of its distinguished graduate from the Department of Human Resources Management (Latifa Momena), CEO and founder of the Wesal Alkhair horseback Riding Academy for people with special needs. At the opening ceremony of the Academy and in the presence of one of the graduate teachers, Ms. Huda Alkhalidi, Latifa mentioned in her speech that she started charity work when she was volunteering with the University of business and technology to complete the 100 volunteer hour as a graduation requirement, at the Open Skies Foundation, which was founded by the late Ms. Judy Hory, a former faculty member of the English Language Academy at the University, who supported, taught and encouraged Latifa to love charity work and who trained her. And now, with pride, she took up the message and began to establish an Academy and a charity on her own. UBT is proud of the outputs of the University and their dedication to volunteer work and how they are giving back to the community. As part of enhancing cooperation between the academic sector and the logistics industry, Dr. Bandar Altubaishe, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration, participated in the 6th Annual Supply Chain and Logistics Conference organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services in Riyadh on December 15-16, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel. The conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services. Dr. Altubaishe moderate a panel discussion titled “Saudi Seaports and Investment Opportunities,” featuring prominent logistics industry leaders, including Mr. Jay New, CEO of King Abdullah Port; Mr. Mohamed Shihab, CEO of Maersk Transport; Mr. Poul Hitsbesk, CEO of Folk Maritime(a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund); and Eng. Turki bin Fahad Al-Khuraif, General Manager of Ports and Maritime Services at Elm Company. The session focused on key strategies for developing Saudi ports and enhancing their global rankings in alignment with Vision 2030 goals. It highlighted the role of infrastructure projects and strategies in connecting emerging markets across Africa and Asia. UBT is honored to participate in the Times Higher Education Arab Universities Summit in Dubai, hosted by Dubai University, on 4-5 December 2024. The participation is led by the Consultsnt of the President & Dean of the College of Business Administration Prof Haneen Mohammad Shoaib. The sessions were tackling important matters including ways of how to face the new challenges lingering over Higher Education for Arab Universities. Topics including, how to reinforce research and its various funding resources, building links and partnerships with different sectors to serve education, as well as the readiness of Arab Universities to be part of the solution for the most prominent problems facing Arab communities and their role in serving society responsibly. The University of Business and Technology (UBT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Center for Family Businesses (NCFB) on Tuesday December 3, 2024. The signing ceremony was attended by UBT’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdullah Dahlan, President Dr. Weam Tunsi, and several university leaders. Representing the National Center were its Chairman of the Board, Dr. Ghassan Al Sulaiman, and its CEO, Dr. Ayth Al Mubarak. The agreement highlights several key areas designed to advance family businesses in the Kingdom and enhance their role in driving the national economy. Academically, it emphasizes the development of specialized courses on family business management at both undergraduate and graduate levels. It also seeks to foster research collaboration by facilitating the exchange of studies and organizing forums and conferences dedicated to family business management. In the area of training, the agreement focuses on jointly designing and implementing training programs and workshops to build expertise in critical topics such as governance, succession planning, and leadership development. Finally, it aims to showcase CSR initiatives undertaken by family businesses. This agreement builds on the university’s ongoing efforts in this field. In collaboration with the NCFB, the College of Business Administration launched a course on Family Business Management course at the Bachelor’s level at the start of the Fall 2024 semester. The course equips students with both theoretical and practical knowledge to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by family businesses, empowering them to contribute to their sustainability and growth. Hospitality and Tourism students at the college of Business Administration, accompanied by the department faculty member Hussein Engawi, embarked on an experiential learning Journey. The group visited the prestigious Joudyan Hotel and Jeddah Edition Hotel, where they gained invaluable insights into the inner workings of a luxury hospitality establishment. Following the hotel visit, the students proceeded to the Jeddah Yacht Club, where they had the unique opportunity to explore an Italian Navy ship that is going towards an endeavor through the world, harbored in the marina. This immersive experience provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the tourism and hospitality industries, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. The University of Business and Technology celebrated the distinguished event of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit at the College of Business Administration, led by the head of the Unit, Ms. Lina Kutbi, with the participation of students from the four Colleges of the University. In light of the vision of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdullah bin Sadiq Dahlan, to contribute to the development of the national music sector, through training locals to support the national vocational needs, a new project was adopted to support local talents in the musical field, through the University’s Business Development and Marketing Center. Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, the General Supervisor of the Center, and the Dean of College of Business Administration, ensured that UBT works to contribute to the music field by taking a new step towards music and sound training through a cooperation with a pioneer in the music world, who combines the industry excellence by working with top international musicians as well as obtaining postgraduate degrees in the field of music and sound, Professor John Merchant, Chair of the Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University, USA. Noting that the training is exclusively licensed by (Avid) an International leader in the sector of Music production training, to deliver “Pro Tools” second level training at UBT’s new campus in Corniche, targeting the local community with a batch that passed the first level training and includes academics in the field, as well as professionals in the industry. In addition to some of the distinguished students and graduates of Jeddah college of Advertising, who are among the first to ever take such a training in Saudi Arabia.
The University of Business and Technology represented by the College of Business Administration, through the head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit at CBA, Dr. Abdullah Al-Jaroudi, participated in the seventeenth forum of the Islamic Development Bank as an arbitrator within a committee comprising investment fund managers and entrepreneurs in the competition that included 46 participants from around the world with pioneering ideas and owners of emerging projects. The Deanship of Scientific Research at The University of Business and Technology (UBT) organized the 1st Symposium for Post-Graduates & Undergraduate Student Research, on April 30th, 2024, at the Corniche campus. Students from all colleges participated with 29 research papers and showcased their research prowess through engaging poster presentations alongside their respective research papers. The event served not only as a platform for recognizing research excellence but also as a forum for sharing groundbreaking discoveries and insights. The symposium brought together scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts to share their knowledge, insights, and innovations in their respective fields through various sessions, presentations, and discussions covering a wide range of topics. The university's dedication to advancing research and promoting scholarly inquiry promises further remarkable achievements and discoveries in the future.
UBT congratulates the sports management student at the College of Business Administration sports management department the Saudi Judo national team player (Rayana Banaja) for winning second place in the Kingdom Women's Judo Championship in the open weight category (+87) of the women's category (+21), a competition in which 8 government clubs participated. Among them are Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, Al-Nasr and Al-Ahly UBT is proud of these sporting achievements and looks forward to more sports excellence in the future.

The visit was crowned with success, as it provided an opportunity to discuss many ideas that enhance joint cooperation between the two universities through academic and research cooperation and the exchange of joint experiences in various fields that support the development of the educational system and serve science students in light of an ambitious national vision.
Attending and sponsoring this graduation ceremony his excellency the chair of board of trustees Dr. Abdullah Bin Sadeq Dahlan and the attendance of the university president and deputy president and the vice presidents as well as the consultants of the chair of BoT and the deans and distinguished guests, UBT concluded its activities by organizing the graduation ceremonies for all students in under-graduate and post-graduate programs, in attendance were parents, higher education affiliates and prominent community members. The chair of BoT congratulated graduating students in his speech and wished them a prosperous future with their careers, he also thanked the ministry of education and highlighted their efforts in developing educational process to comply with the Saudi Vision 2030, he ended his speech with an announcement of 20% discount for under-graduate students who wish to obtain their post-graduate degrees at UBT, and concluded the ceremony along with the university president by honoring the graduates with their certificates and plaques.
The

hosted Mr. Taher Kapasi – Region Head of Education, the Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Middle East, as a guest speaker,
who delivered a ACCA workshop about professional certificates which was well
received by the students.
He
revealed in his presentation the importance of the Accounting and Finance
professional certificate in Saudi Arabia and the promising future for the UBT
students in this field, providing students with insights into the world of
ACCA, its benefits, and the numerous opportunities it opens up in the
accounting and finance sector.
He
covered important topics such as the ACCA qualification structure, the global
recognition and reputation of ACCA, the career pathways it offers, and the
support resources available to students.

The
College of Business and Administration College presented in the Human Resources
Management Department Club organized a visit to Nafisa Shams Academy on Monday,
October 9, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Nadra Tawfiq, for the
(HR
Development course )
from
the Human Resources Management Department.
The educational
trip included a comprehensive tour about Nafisa Shams Company, Nafisa Shams
Academy, and the Women Entrepreneurship Incubator. During which, the
female students were introduced to the production line of carpets, textiles and
various products that are produced by female human resources who were trained
under the supervision of the academy. The visit concluded with an in-depth
explanation of the skills required by the current labor market, which are
refined in the academy through training female human resources to be
specialized in different sectors required by the labor market.
The
students expressed their happiness at the existence of such an academy that
works to empower, qualify and train women for the labor market.

The idea of the competition was inspired by Dr. Tariq al-Abadi's lecture on artificial intelligence in marketing, during the activities of the marketing Day organized by the head of the marketing department Dr. Sharifah Ahmad and Ms. Kholod Aggad with the support of the Marketing Department’s student club. The five participating teams visited the University store and selected the products to be marketed, and they worked on the marketing campaign through artificial intelligence to design the campaign ad, which will be voted on by students. The dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked the head of the unit, Professor Lina Kutbi, for her great efforts to plan and implement the event, and it is worth mentioning that Ms. Lina is a PhD researcher specializing in her Masters in entrepreneurship and innovation. Thanks is extended to the college’s support team and the participating students, and the invitation is extended to all to participate in upcoming activities that link education with practice and foster students ' skills in communication and effective leadership.
