A Moot Court for Civil Contracts Course

A moot court was held at the College of Law, presented by students of the Civil Contracts course under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Sayed.
The students' participation was fruitful and distinguished by their steadfastness and enthusiasm. The moot court had a positive impact on all students.

Workshop for employees titled "Employee Skills and Ethics in the Workplace."

The Training Center, in collaboration with the College of Law and in coordination with the Human Resources Department, organized a developmental workshop for employees titled "Employee Skills and Ethics in the Workplace. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Amani Fawzi El Sayed Hamouda, Associate Professor at the College of Law. This workshop is part of a series of developmental activities aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of the university's employees, as well as improving performance and productivity in the workplace.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
Promoting values and positive ethics in the work environment. Developing communication skills and positive interaction with colleagues. We look forward to involve all employees in the upcoming workshops and maximizing the benefits to achieve our common goals.

ICC Event

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) were pleased to launch the Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum (ICC-YAAF) in Saudi Arabia at UBT’s Corniche campus, with law students and lawyers from across the region attending.
Representatives of the International Chamber of Commerce - Mrs. Dara Sahab - Assistant Squire Baton Boggs - and Mr. Amr Omran - Senior Assistant at Freshfields Brockhaus Deringer, gave a meeting entitled The Importance of International Commercial Arbitration in the Kingdom.
The ICC YAAF network brings together more than 27,400 practitioners across seven regional chapters in Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, North Asia, South Asia, Europe, Russia, Latin America, and North America.
The University of Business and Technology looks forward to working with ICC-YAAF to provide a range of opportunities for lawyers to gain knowledge, develop skills, build networks, and gain a better understanding of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

The University of Business & Technology (UBT) 🇸🇦 were proud to host an introductory meeting with the British Consul General 🇬🇧 Jeddah Mrs. Cecille Elbeleidi and colleagues from the British Embassy #Riyadh.  The visit at the UBT Corniche campus attended by University President Prof. Osama Jannadi and UBT Co. CEO Dr. Mohanad Dahlan, incorporated discussions on opportunities for collaboration between UBT and the UK 🇬🇧 trade, industry, and education institutions.

Public Prosecution Trip

Under the leadership of the Dean of Jeddah College of Law, Dr. Hani Al-Jahdali, with the Vice-Dean of the College of Law-Dahban, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Khusaifan, students at the College of Law in Jeddah, at the University of Business and Technology, visited the main center of the Public Prosecution Office in Jeddah on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 . An introductory lecture was given to male and female students about the work of the of the Public Prosecution Office and investigation procedures.
The Dean of Jeddah College of Law gifted the Public Prosecution Office, the gift of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the President of the University to the Chief of Public Prosecution in Jeddah. The male and female students expressed how much they had benefited from the visit, with the Public Prosecution providing practical training before graduation for male and female students at Jeddah College of Law.

Moot Court Competition

UBT Jeddah College of Law (JCL) won 2 of the 5 prizes with ‘Best Respondent Memorandum’ and 3rd prize with ‘Best Claimant Memorandum’ - beating 52 university teams from 34 countries in the GCC. the GCC Moot Court Competition by the Saudi Centre of Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) in partnership with the United Nations (UNCITRAL) and the US State Department’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP).

Introduction to Cryptocurrency

JCL, the University of Business and Technology was proudly had the second collaborative lecture with William and Mary Law school, USA presented by Prof. Eric D. Chason. In this Lecture, Students have been Introduced to the definition of Cryptocurrency, where it’s been used, the legality of it, and its value in the market.

Intellectual property and social media

JCL in the University of Business and Technology had a Workshop presented by Dr. Sairah Narmah Al -Qasim which included the issues and Challenges Regarding Intellectual Rights in the social media. Students learn how to protect Media rights from infringement and what may consider as an infringement to the Intellectual Property in present time with Media and Technology.

FIGHTING A GLOBAL PROBLEM

JCL in the University of Business and Technology had a Discussion workshop Event on the UN &OECD efforts to fight the corruption in the International Business. Dr. Melanie Reed who worked at the International Anti-Corruption Division in Paris (OECD) gave our JCL, UBT students an overview of the International Corruption and how we prevent such corruptions from increasing by applying the rules of law and business

Memorandum of Understanding with SBA

JCL, UBT, has made a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Bar Association in the University of Business and Technology February 2021. This MEMO herby aim to promote the collaboration between the two institutions and to exchange experience in all legal activities, research, and training for the JCL students.

Memorandum of Understanding with Lexis Nexis

In February 2021, in the University of Business and Technology, JCL had made a MEMO of Understanding with Lexis Nexis, a corporation providing computer-assisted legal research, as well as business research and risk management services. This MEMO herby aim to promote the collaboration between the two institutions and to exchange experience in all legal, research training for the JCL students.

Courses in the University of Paris

The students of JCL, University of Business and technology took summer Legal Courses in the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne, France. Certificates were given by the French Council and the President of the University. The French Council was admired of JCL Student for their dedication and hard work throughout the courses given.
